The draw for the 2026 World Cup has officially been made, with England set for a group stage match against Croatia, who famously defeated the Three Lions after extra-time in the 2018 semi-finals.

Thomas Tuchel’s side will also face Ghana and Panama. Meanwhile, Scotland will play five-time winners Brazil, Morocco and Haiti in their first World Cup since 1998.
Joint-hosts Mexico were automatically drawn into Group A and they will face South Africa, Korea Republic and European Play-Off Winner D. Fellow hosts Canada will play European Play-Off Winner A, Qatar and Switzerland, and USA have been drawn against Paraguay, Australia and European Play-Off Winner C.
Reigning champions Argentina will face Algeria, Austria and Jordan in the group stages, while 2022 runners-up France are arguably in the Group of Death after being drawn in Group I with Senegal, FIFA Play-Off Winner 2 and Norway.
Fellow big-hitters Germany will be looking to bounce back after exiting in the group stage in Qatar and they will face Curacao, Cote d’Ivoire and Ecuador. Netherlands will face fixtures against Japan, European Play-Off Winner B and Tunisia, while Belgium will face Egypt, Iran and New Zealand.
Portugal, meanwhile, will play FIFA Play-Off Winner 1, Uzbekistan and Colombia, and favourites Spain have been drawn against Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay.
