Estevao Willian has been heavily linked with a Chelsea exit in recent weeks and it’s understood that Barcelona are among the clubs tracking his situation in west London.

The Brazil international established himself as a key player for the Blues during his debut season at the club last year, but he has fallen down the pecking order under new manager Xabi Alonso and he is yet to start a Premier League match this season.

Estevao has only racked up 23 minutes of action from a possible 450 in the English top flight this term and his lack of game time has unsurprisingly led to significant transfer rumours suggesting that he could look to leave Stamford Bridge next year.

Reports in Brazil speculate that Estevao is growing frustrated by his current role at Chelsea, although he poured cold water on such claims after travelling to his homeland for international duty.

“I think every coach has their own way of playing. Of course, we work every day, I give my best every day, and that's what I do,” Estevao told ESPN.

“We have quality players at Chelsea, so what I do is focus on what I can control, I try to give my best in training, when I get an opportunity I try to give my best, it goes day after day.

“I try to seize every opportunity I have, I try to control everything I can and I leave it in God's hands, and I trust myself a lot too.”

Despite this, Barcelona are believed to be monitoring his situation and they could look to pounce next year after missing out on his signature during his time at Palmeiras.

Estevao transfer value increase

While Estevao may be frustrated by his current status at Stamford Bridge, it’s understood that Chelsea have no interest in selling him next year, with the Brazil wonderkid regarded as one of their ‘untouchable’ stars, alongside the likes of Joao Pedro, Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo.

However, if the Blues perform a shock u-turn, they could earn a tidy profit, especially following the latest Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) update.

Estevao was valued at €78.7 million in September, but his ETV has now increased by €32.2m to a career-high of €110.9m in the October update.

Of course, Chelsea want to keep Estevao - and for good reason - but his value has increased despite his lack of recent game time, and the Blues are therefore in an extremely strong negotiation position.
