Chelsea have made an insulting first offer for AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Chelsea and Milan opened negotiations for Maignan this week but Romano reports that there is a massive gap in valuation of the player.

Romano reports that Milan value Maignan at €30 million.
However, Chelsea incredibly only value Maignan at €10m - using the excuse that the goalkeeper only has one year left on his contract.
Maignan talks stall
This verbal offer from Chelsea can only be described as insulting, not only to Milan but also in the eyes of Maignan.
The goalkeeper is the France number one and on reputation one of the best goalkeepers in Europe.
Whether or not the negotiations can be repaired now remains to be seen.
Maignan’s contract at Milan expires next year and he has still not penned a new deal.
In March it was reported that Maignan had a verbal agreement with Milan on a €5 million per year deal until 2028.
However, that contract has not been signed still amid talk in the Italian media that Milan are backtracking.
Maignan has been increasingly linked with a summer move to Chelsea this summer in recent weeks.
Chelsea plan to sign a new goalkeeper this summer as current number one Robert Sanchez has not impressed.
Until recently, Maignan had been considered untouchable at San Siro but he endured a difficult season - just like the rest of his team, who finished eighth in Serie A and failed to qualify for Europe.
Maignan made a string of costly blunders this season, including a catastrophic error that allowed Feyenoord to eliminate Milan from the Champions League playoffs.
That has not stopped Chelsea from wanting to sign Maignan this summer.
Maignan at Milan
The 29-year-old Maignan joined Milan from Lille in 2021 for just €15 million.
He was signed as the replacement for Gianluigi Donnarumma, who departed that summer for PSG on a free transfer when his contract expired.
Despite having Donnarumma's massive gloves to fill, Maignan was a revelation in his first season as he helped Milan win a surprise Scudetto under Stefano Pioli.
He was named Serie A Goalkeeper of the Year in that first season as he established himself as the best in the league.
Since then, Maignan has not managed to maintain the same brilliant consistency he showed in 2021-22 - and he has also faced a number of layoffs through injury.
In total, Maignan has made over 150 appearances for Milan, also winning the Italian Super Cup in 2024 and reaching the Champions League semis in 2023.
He has been capped 30 times by France and was France number one at Euro 2024, also travelling to Euro 2020.
