Romano does add, though, that Arsenal and Chelsea will soon sit down for direct talks over Madueke.

During these talks, the two teams will work to understand if this deal can proceed.

Madueke to Arsenal

The Italian transfer journalist reports that Madueke has already agreed personal terms with Arsenal.

The 23-year-old has agreed to a five year contract at the Emirates until 2030.

Romano's report follows on from a story by David Ornstein on Saturday in which the Athletic reporter revealed that Madueke had come to terms with Arsenal.

Madueke is available for transfer at Chelsea after the club spent heavily on wingers Joao Pedro from Brighton and Jamiue Gittens from Borussia Dortmund.

The Gunners are in the market for reinforcements for both flanks. On the left, they want an upgrade on Gabriel Martinelli, while they are also seeking a backup to Bukayo Saka on the right.

Madueke, who is most comfortable on the right but can also play on the left, would initially come in to deputise for and compete with Saka.

The player is understood to want to make the transfer.

It has been claimed that Chelsea could demand as much as €58 million for Madueke, who currently boasts an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €51.5m. He is still under contract until 2030.

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca was drawn on the topic of Arsenal's interest in Madueke after the Blues' 2-1 win over Palmeiras at the Club World Cup on Friday.

"Noni has been very important for us during this season," the Italian began.

"Today, again, he has been important. But my message to the players and to the club is that I want just players that are happy to be with us. The ones that are not happy, they are free to go. It's not for Noni, it's for all the players we have."

Madueke came through the youth academies of Crystal Palace and Tottenham before moving to PSV where he made his name.

He scored 20 goals in 80 games for PSV before moving to Chelsea in 2023 for €33 million.

He has made 91 appearances and scored 20 goals, while he has been capped 13 times by England.
