Arsenal have been told reported target Nicolo Tresoldi is “going to reach the top” of the game by his Club Brugge manager Ivan Lecko.

Tresoldi, 22, is developing a reputation as one of the best young strikers in Europe having scored 28 goals in 67 games for Belgian giants Brugge.

The Germany Under-21 international is being loosely linked with Arsenal and Barcelona, with both clubs believed to be keen on strengthening their attacks.

Arsenal and Barcelona were interested in signing Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez in the summer transfer window but neither team were able to strike a deal.

But now Arsenal and Barcelona have been told Tresoldi is a forward who has the potential to reach the same heights as Argentina international Alvarez.

Speaking ahead of the trip to Inter Milan in the Champions League tonight, Brugge boss Lecko said of Tresoldi: “I’m a big fan of his; he’s a very humble guy. He is well aware of his talent and works extremely hard.

“He has made significant progress over the last ten months, and I know he’s going to reach the top. He has potential, but he’s not the only highly talented player we have on the team.”

The comments from Lecko echo the thoughts of Brugge goalkeeper Yann Sommer, who also believes Tresoldi can become a future star.

“Tresoldi can, without any doubt, become a top European striker,” Sommer said ahead of his reunion with former club Inter. “He has the qualities to play for a big club.”

Tresoldi heads to Inter in excellent form

Born to an Italian father and an Argentine mother, Tresoldi began his career with German side Hannover, scoring 14 goals in 80 games for the 2. Bundesliga club.

He then joined Belgian Pro League outfit Brugge for a reported €7.5million (£6.3m) in June 2025, signing a contract through to 2029.

Tresoldi has been in red-hot form for Brugge this season, scoring five goals in nine appearances across the Belgian top flight and the Champions League.

While Tresoldi will look to continue his fine form in front of goal against Inter, Arsenal meanwhile play host to Lille in the Champions League this evening.

The Gunners are looking to secure back-to-back wins in European competition having narrowly beaten Napoli 1-0 in their opening fixture.

Barcelona, on the other hand, are looking to do the same thing when they travel to Galatasaray tonight, having beaten Feyenoord 5-1 in September.
