Here are half a dozen such moves that you may have overlooked on what was one of the most spectacular Deadline Days in recent history.

Santos to Genoa (Loan)

Robinho is name written into Premier League history, with the Brazil international attacker one of the first signings of Manchester City’s big-spending era. He also played with Real Madrid and AC Milan in a storied career that saw him win La Liga twice and Serie A.

Now his son is taking his first steps into European football with Genoa. The teenager has signed on loan with the Serie A club with a purchase option and is said to have the flair and talent to forge a successful career in Europe.

Listed as a right winger, he can play anywhere across the forward line, and his development is something to track in the weeks and months ahead.

Juventus to Atletico Madrid (Loan)

Jonathan David has put an end to his nightmare spell at Juventus by moving on loan to Atletico Madrid, where he will offer Diego Simeone’s side another attacking option.

A high-profile free agent a year ago when he left Lille, David struggled to live up to the hype at Juve and then had a comparatively modest World Cup for Canada.

There’s little doubt that he remains a player with a lot to give, and his style should suit his switch to the Spanish capital.

PSG to Aston Villa (€55m)
Is it possible for a €55 million deal to fly under the radar? Perhaps not, but given the size of this fee, there is a sense that the drama elsewhere on Deadline Day means that this was a deal that did not get the attention it deserved.
Villa have captured one of PSG’s brightest young talents, who has been eager for more regular first-team football.
Mbaye has certainly shown talent in France, but the 18-year-old has comparatively little first-team experience with 44 matches under his belt.

Moise Kean
Fiorentina to Como (Loan, €10m)

Remembered in England for his difficult spell with Everton, Moise Kean will be back in the Champions League next season with Cesc Fabregas’ Como, who have taken a punt on the centre-forward by way of a season-long loan deal worth a staggering €10 million.

Just two seasons ago, he finished as Serie A’s second-leading marksman, having netted 19 goals, but he managed only eight last time around.

Still only 26, the striker has blown hot and cold throughout his career, but he has the potential to light it up in Lombardy if he can find his feet.

Moussa Diaby
Al-Ittihad to Bayer Leverkusen (€30m)

Diaby is now the 26th most valuable player of all time when it comes to cumulative transfer fees, with the former PSG youth having traded for a total of €158m throughout his career.

The former Aston Villa man moved to the Saudi Pro League from Birmingham in 2024 in a €60m deal but returned to Leverkusen two years later for less than half of that figure, with the Bundesliga club paying €28m to sign him for a second time.

He enjoyed the best period of his career in Germany, scoring 49 goals and creating 47 more in 172 outings. Diaby is a player who could have a transformative impact on the club should he regain that form.
