Chelsea poised to receive offers for star who is not part of Alonso's plans

Chelsea could receive offers from clubs in La Liga for Alejandro Garnacho if his situation at Aston Villa does not improve, according to Daily Mail.

Garnacho joined Villa on a season-long loan which includes a conditional obligation to buy provided certain targets are met this season.

However, the 22-year-old has barely featured for Villa in the early stages of the new campaign, clocking up just 31 minutes of football.

Garnacho is yet to start for Unai Emery’s side and has been an unused substitute in their last four games across the Premier League and Champions League.

And the Mail understands several teams in La Liga are keeping a close eye on proceedings ahead of the transfer window re-opening in January.

Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso made it clear in the summer that Garnacho is not part of his plans, with the winger making a quick exit from Stamford Bridge.

Garnacho joined the Blues from Manchester United for €46.6million (£40m) in August 2025 and made 43 appearances in all competitions last season.

While the Argentina international produced a healthy return of eight goals across four competitions, only one of them came in the Premier League.

Garnacho will look to impress Emery in training during the international break, with Villa next in action when they entertain in-form Brentford on Saturday, 10 October.

Chelsea meanwhile play host to Bournemouth on the same day, with Alonso’s men looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League.

The west London club are winless in three league games having recorded losses to Arsenal and Brentford either side of a draw with Hull City.

Garnacho situation has echoes of sorry Elliott loan

The current situation regarding Garnacho has drawn early comparisons with the plight of Harvey Elliott, who also endured a difficult loan spell at Villa.

Elliott moved to Villa Park on a temporary basis from Liverpool last season but made just nine appearances for the Europa League winners.

However, BBC Sport reporter Nick Mashiter points out that new Villa signings are - generally - blooded in slowly by head coach Emery.

Mashiter writes that Youri Tielemans did not register a single start for Villa until November 2023 - four months after he officially joined on a free transfer.

Tielemans would go on to become a talisman for Villa, helping them win their first European silverware for 30 years with victory in the Europa League final last term.
