Fenerbahce are reportedly willing to “break the bank” to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford this summer.

The England international spent last season on loan at Barcelona, however the Spanish giants have opted against triggering their €30 million option-to-buy clause and he is set to return to Old Trafford soon following his participation at the World Cup.

It’s understood that Rashford will be given the opportunity to impress new Man Utd boss Michael Carrick in pre-season, although the Red Devils are open to sanctioning a sale before the summer transfer window closes if they receive a suitable offer.

The 28-year-old scored 14 goals in 49 games for Barcelona last term and he has now been added to a three-man transfer shortlist by Fenerbahce, as per a report from The Sun.

It’s claimed that Ismail Kartal’s side are eager to bolster their forward options this summer and they have earmarked Rashford as a key target, alongside Ismaila Sarr (Crystal Palace) and Rafael Leao (AC Milan).

Fenerbahce have already contacted Rashford’s representatives to gauge his interest in a summer move to Turkey and they are reportedly ready to “break the bank” to sign the Man Utd attacker if he expressed his desire to complete a transfer.

Confirmed: Marcus Rashford won’t rejoin Barcelona

Rashford was initially eager to join Barcelona on a permanent deal following his loan spell at the club, but he officially confirmed that he won’t return to Camp Nou in a post on Instagram in late July.

“I’m very grateful to everyone at the club for making my time here such a positive and memorable experience. I’ve enjoyed every moment and will take many special memories with me,” Rashford wrote.

“I wish the club and all its supporters the very best of luck and every success in the season ahead.”

Meanwhile, after Barcelona’s pre-season friendly against Birmingham City last week, Blaugrana boss Hansi Flick admitted: “You don't know what happens with players who are on loan - our situation is not easy for that. But I appreciate working with him [Rashford].

“He is a fantastic player and a fantastic person. The team miss him, I will miss him, but it is life.

“This is what we have to accept. And in the end, Anthony Gordon comes and from the first call with him when I spoke with him, he is on fire with Barca and I'm really happy that he's on our team.”
