Man Utd receive Hall transfer verdict

Although Man Utd have been linked with a move for Newcastle’s Lewis Hall in the wake of Eddie Howe’s resignation at St James’ Park, the Red Devils believe it is not a deal that will be easy to do.

Writing for BBC Sport, Simon Stone reports: “There is interest in Newcastle's Lewis Hall, albeit with an acknowledgement it would be a very difficult transfer to complete – the view now is that youngster Harry Amass will leave, either on loan or permanently.”

Hall, meanwhile, is said to have turned down the opportunity to re-join Chelsea.

Chelsea monitor Joshua Zirkzee

Man Utd attacker Joshua Zirkzee could be subject to a transfer hijack from Chelsea, who are ready to whisk the Netherlands international forward away from a potential move to Juventus.

Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that after two difficult years with United, Zirkzee is likely to be on the move again, though a return to Serie A could be disrupted by a shock move from the Red Devils’ Premier League rivals.

Juve had made significant progress towards completing a deal, with an agreement on a loan move reportedly struck with Man Utd and personal terms agreed with the player.

The Italian side, though, have faced a hold up in completing the move as they first need to make room in their squad to comply with UEFA’s financial regulations.

Man Utd boss Michael Carrick seemed to hint that Zirkzee has no future at the club by picking Bryan Mbeumo ahead of him in the forward role for the weekend’s friendly against Atletico Madrid.

Obi-Martin set for loan exit

Chido Obi-Martin is set to be loaned out by Manchester United for the season ahead, according to a report from Tipsbladet.

There is reportedly “massive interest” in the 18-year-old striker both from within England but also from abroad.

Should the right opportunity present itself, United are open to completing a deal for a young forward who has struggled to get pitch time under Carrick.

Obi-Martin, who arrived at United from Arsenal, has not been included in the club’s pre-season tour, despite scoring 19 times in 40 games for the U21 side last season.

Man Utd miss out on Ndiaye

United are poised for disappointment in their chase to sign Iliman Ndiaye from Everton, with the winger close to completing a £75 million move to the Saudi Pro League.

Al-Hilal are ready to match Everton’s asking price for the wideman, with the Red Devils priced out of a move, Caught Offside reports.

Ndiaye has scored 15 goals and created three more in 65 Premier League appearances for the Toffees since joining the club two years ago from Marseille.
