Barcelona and PSG are closing in on an agreement for Ferran Torres.
The scorer of Spain's winning goal in the World Cup final is set to change clubs this summer - despite Barcelona's dearth of striker options. Having already lost Robert Lewandowski, the Blaugrana are now close to selling Torres.
PSG opened talks with the 26-year-old during the World Cup and major progress was made on personal terms, with the versatile forward open to the move. After a fairly quiet few weeks, this potential transfer is picking up steam again.

Torres recently made headlines with some eyebrow-raising comments, which hinted not just at a possible move but even at a rift with Barcelona. The forward insinuated that he does not feel fully valued by his club.
His comments reportedly left the Catalans unhappy, and they are now ready to cash in on him. According to MARCA and confirmed by Ben Jacobs, PSG have begun formal discussions with Barcelona over a deal.
Torres agreement imminent
The player has greenlit the transfer, and all parties are keen on a swift resolution. Ideally, Barcelona and PSG want to have this deal thrashed out before Torres is due to return to the former from his post-World Cup holiday on Wednesday.
It is believed that PSG are prepared to pay around €50 million for the Spain hero. If true, it means that Barcelona will make a loss on Torres after spending €65m to sign him from Man City in 2022.
Weirdly enough, the Premier League giants are partly to blame for the rift between Barcelona and Torres. His terms are due to expire next year, and handing him an extension would force the Catalans to pay an additional €8m to the Cityzens due to a bonus clause.
Barcelona would rather just cash in on him than send City more money. This is an important detail because the club need every penny in their search for a new elite No.9.
They have been trying to convince Atletico Madrid to sell Julian Alvarez, but to no avail so far. Any deal for the Argentina international would cost €150m or more - and Barcelona have already spent over €100m this summer.
Perhaps the Torres money will give them the necessary financial muscle to change Atleti's stance.
