Vinicius Junior signs new Real Madrid contract until 2032

Real Madrid have secured one of the world's biggest stars for the long term after Vinicius Junior officially signed a new deal.

“Vinicius Junior has officially signed a new contract with Real Madrid, confirming what has always been his only plan. Naturally, one of the best players in the world attracted interest from elsewhere, but the message he consistently gave to his agents, family and everyone close to him was that he wanted to stay at Real Madrid,” Romano told his YouTube channel.

“Vinicius has always made it clear that he loves the club and wanted to continue there. On social media, he reflected on his eight years at the Bernabeu by saying it was not enough and that he wanted six more years and forever.

“The new agreement runs until 2032, giving Vinicius a very long-term future at the club. Florentino Perez was one of the key figures throughout this process because he pushed from day one to keep Vinicius at Real Madrid.

“Even during the difficult moments between Vinicius and Xabi Alonso earlier in the season, including after El Clasico and other situations, Florentino always backed the player. He continually told Vinicius that he believed in him, trusted him and saw his future at Real Madrid.

“The decisive meeting took place yesterday, with the agreement completed today. It happened very quickly because Real Madrid only wanted to keep Vinicius, and Vinicius only wanted to stay. This was always the only outcome.”

Yan Diomande officially completes Real Madrid move

Real Madrid also confirmed another major signing after bringing an end to one of the summer's longest-running transfer sagas.

“Another huge story today is Yan Diomande. It's now official and Real Madrid have confirmed the deal with a club statement.

“There was plenty of drama around this transfer, but now it's over. Diomande is officially a Real Madrid player. That's it.”

Barcelona move ahead of Real Madrid in Rodri race

Barcelona are accelerating their pursuit of Rodri and believe they are closing in on one of the biggest transfers of the summer.

Romano said: “Barcelona are moving as quickly as possible because they want to avoid any last-minute surprises. They've been working behind the scenes on Rodri for some time and now there is genuine excitement around the deal.

“Today, Barcelona sent their contract proposal to Rodri and his agent. They also informed Manchester City that they are in discussions with the player.

“Barcelona are now waiting for Rodri, either personally or through his agent, to tell Manchester City that he has decided to join Barcelona. Once that happens, they will move to complete the club-to-club negotiations.

“Real Madrid were prepared to pay €50 million for Rodri last week, but their latest indication is that they now see the player as moving further away because Rodri has given Barcelona the green light to negotiate.

“For the first time, Rodri has opened the door to Barcelona. He has spoken with Hansi Flick and Deco, who has done an incredible job to make this possible. Barcelona have involved everyone, from the coach to the sporting director, and now the opportunity is there.

“The next step depends on Rodri informing Manchester City of his decision. Once that happens, Barcelona will push to complete the transfer.

“This is a huge development because Barcelona signing Rodri would have been almost impossible to imagine two or three weeks ago.

Arsenal weighing up Cristian Romero and defensive reinforcements

Arsenal remain active in the market for defenders, but face major obstacles if they want to sign Cristian Romero.

“Arsenal are expected to sign a centre-back. That's one of their next priorities, while they are also assessing the winger position. Bruno Guimaraes is now official,” Romano said.

“Arsenal spoke with Cristian Romero's representatives and asked for information about the situation. The problem is the relationship between Arsenal and Tottenham, which obviously makes any deal extremely difficult.

“It's much easier for Tottenham to negotiate with Atletico Madrid. My understanding is that Atletico are now the clear favourites to sign Romero.

“The player is negotiating with Atletico Madrid and the clubs are also in discussions.

“Inter already reached an agreement with Tottenham some time ago, but they cannot move forward unless Benjamin Pavard leaves. They also still need to agree personal terms with Romero, so everything depends on outgoing transfers.

“Arsenal made enquiries, but Tottenham do not want to sell to Arsenal. It would take a historic decision for Tottenham to approve that move.

“I still expect Arsenal to sign a centre-back. Another player they appreciate is Ezri Konsa at Aston Villa, so that's another name to watch closely over the coming weeks.”

Manchester United monitoring Lewis Hall as Newcastle stand firm

Manchester United want to strengthen at left-back, but Newcastle are determined to keep Lewis Hall.

“Manchester United are looking to strengthen at left-back and that could be one of their next priorities,” Romano explained.

“At the moment, Lewis Hall is considered too expensive and Newcastle have absolutely no intention of selling him.

“Newcastle have already lost several important figures this summer. Sandro Tonali joined Tottenham, Anthony Gordon moved to Barcelona, Bruno Guimaraes is joining Arsenal and they've also lost manager Eddie Howe.

“Because of that, Newcastle are determined to keep Lewis Hall. Only an extraordinary offer could change their position, so we'll continue to monitor the situation over the coming days.”
