Romero is expected to leave Tottenham this summer, with Inter already having verbally agreed a deal with Spurs worth around €40 million, although they have yet to strike terms with the player.

Atletico Madrid are hoping to pounce on Inter’s slow progress and have made the defender an active target but The Athletic report that Arsenal also have an interest in Romero.

However, Tottenham are said to be ‘unaware’ of Arsenal’s interest and would be unwilling to consider any approach from the Gunners.

Liverpool face Mbaye competition

Liverpool’s strongest contenders to sign Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain this summer could be Dortmund, with plenty of clubs tracking the youngster.

Mbaye has told PSG he wants to leave the club this summer in search of regular first team football and Liverpool have emerged as targets.

L’Equipe report that Mbaye is still keeping his options open after being chased by more than ten teams of varying interest, while PSG are yet to name their asking price.

Although Liverpool are said to be favourites, Mbaye is said to be open to joining a smaller club if he is offered more minutes and then eventually moving to a big club.

Jesus gets chance to leave Arsenal

Napoli are pursuing a deal for Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal, according to ge globo in Brazil.

Jesus is entering the final year of his contract with the Gunners and has been told he can leave if a fee of €20 million is received.

Talks are at an early stage between both clubs but Napoli are said to have ‘very strong’ interest in Jesus, while the player is also open to a move.

A deal is being assessed by all parties and negotiations have not progressed as of yet, with Jesus keen to leave Arsenal in search of first team football.

Spence offered to Man Utd

Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Djed Spence, although there is nothing suggesting they will move for the Tottenham star at this stage.

With a deal for Hall not considered likely, United are looking at other players who can feature at left-back and Ben Jacobs has claimed that Spence’s representatives have offered his services to United and Liverpool among other clubs.

“Djed Spence is a name on the player side that has been offered around,” Jacobs told The United Stand. “I’m not aware yet whether the club is interested in that deal but Spence wants to go somewhere and play week-in-week-out, whether it’s on the right or the left.

“His future will broadly be one to watch. United haven’t said at this point that they want Spence but the player’s side are offering him around Premier League clubs.”
