Chelsea Transfer News Today: Enzo Fernandez agreement as decision made
All the latest Chelsea transfer news in one place, including updates on Enzo Fernandez, Kendry Paez and Lamine Camara.
Fernandez agreement, but...
Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has a verbal agreement to join Man City, Fabrizio Romano reports.
However, there is still no agreement between the two clubs, with City yet to make a formal offer for the Argentina international. Even if a bid materialises, there is no guarantee that it will be accepted.
David Ornstein states that Chelsea are desperate to avoid ending the window with a weakened squad. "Man City want Fernandez, but they're going to have to come up with a level of money that Chelsea find acceptable, and Chelsea are going to have to re-enforce their squad to leave them in a stronger position. They don't want to be weakened by it."
Paez recalled
Chelsea have finally recalled Kendry Paez from his loan at River Plate, Ben Jacobs has confirmed.
There has been an expectation for a few months now that the Ecuador international would have his stint in Argentina cut short after failing to impress and get regular minutes. However, the decision had to be delayed, with Chelsea struggling to find Paez a new loan club.
Trabzonspor reportedly pulled out of a deal recently, and there is now an expectation that the attacker will be loaned to an English club. However, it is still not clear where exactly Paez will end up.
Camara contact made
Chelsea have made formal contact with AS Monaco over a deal for Lamine Camara, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues are in discussions over a permanent move for the midfielder, who could arrive as a potential replacement for Enzo Fernandez. Monaco want to keep Camara, but they sense that Chelsea will make a strong push for the Senegal star.
Reports in France suggest that Monaco will only consider offers in the region of €60 million. CEO Thiago Scuro has admitted: "We are a selling club. If we receive an offer we can’t refuse, we’ll accept it, but we’re not forcing him to leave; that’s not the plan."
Guiu heading to Leipzig
Chelsea striker Marc Guiu will join RB Leipzig for less than €20m, as per Sky Germany.
The Blues and the Bundesliga side reached a surprise agreement on Friday evening, but the terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed by reporters - perhaps because Chelsea will not receive their desired fee of around €30m.
Instead, Leipzig will pay less than €20m for the Spaniard. They do not expect him to have an immediate impact after barely playing at Chelsea over the past two years, but they are long-standing admirers and believe that he will be a long-term success.
