Chelsea Transfer News Today: 'Incredible' Lamine Camara offer as signing completed
All the latest Chelsea transfer news in one place, including updates on Lamine Camara, Emiliano Martinez and Enzo Fernandez.
Camara talks in full swing
Chelsea are in discussions to sign AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, as per Sacha Tavolieri.
On Thursday, reports emerged that the Senegal international had been offered to the Blues as well as Liverpool. The opportunity to sign him clearly appeals to Chelsea in their search for a new midfielder amid the uncertain future of Enzo Fernandez.
However, the BBC understands that adding Camara may not be straightforward. Monaco are keen to keep hold of the midfielder and will only sell if an "incredible" offer is made.
Martinez deal finalised
Chelsea have completed the signing of Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.
The Argentina international completed all the formalities of his transfer on Friday. Martinez has been signed on a permanent deal for a fee in the region of €8.8 million. He had been looking to leave Villa since last year, but discussions with Juventus came to nothing earlier this summer.
Chelsea sensed a late market opportunity when they were offered the chance to sign Martinez by his representatives and pounced following Robert Sanchez's unimpressive performance in their Premier League opener on Monday.
Fernandez price
Chelsea are seeking more than €140m from Man City for a transfer for Enzo Fernandez, The Telegraph reports.
The Blues presented City with a chance to make a €140m offer for the Argentine two weeks ago, but the Etihad club refused, as they first had to finalise the sale of Rodri to Barcelona. With only a few days left in the window, Chelsea are now expecting a larger fee.
Despite this, it is clear that they expect City to make a formal - and potentially acceptable - offer before the deadline, with Fernandez having been omitted from Xabi Alonso's squad for Thursday's Carabao Cup clash with Luton.
Wiley joins Preston
Chelsea left-back Caleb Wiley has completed a season-long loan to Preston North End.
The American has yet to make a senior appearance for the Blues since his move from Atlanta United in the summer of 2024. The promising defender has struggled with injuries since arriving in Europe.
He has spent time on loan at Strasbourg and Watford, where he made 15 Championship appearances across two half-seasons between early 2025 and early 2026.
