Maxence Lacroix deal confirmed

Chelsea have officially completed the signing of Crystal Palace centre-back Maxence Lacroix for a reported transfer fee of €60 million.

The France international has signed a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge, valid until 2032, and he is expected to immediately become Levi Colwill’s partner at the heart of defence in west London.

Upon confirmation of his switch to Chelsea, Lacroix told the club’s official website: “I am really happy to be part of this beautiful club. Everyone knows the legend of Chelsea, its tradition of winning, and to be a part of that is a proud moment.

“When I spoke with the manager, I saw that we have the same direction and desire for this club.

“We want to win. When you see the quality of the players here, everything we have around the club, it's something that we can achieve. The ambition is to lift trophies, and I can’t wait to contribute.”

Danny Welbeck medical

Danny Welbeck is set to undergo his medical at Chelsea this week after agreeing a two-year contract with Xabi Alonso’s side.

That is according to a report from The Evening Standard, who state that a deal to sign Welbeck from Brighton for an undisclosed transfer fee is close to being formally completed.

The ex-England striker is expected to play a back-up role to Joao Pedro next season, with three of Liam Delap, Nicolas Jackson, Emmanuel Emegha and Marc Guiu likely to depart before Deadline Day as a result.

Kerim Alajbegovic to join Juventus

Chelsea target Kerim Alajbegovic is on the verge of completing a move from Bayer Leverkusen to Juventus.

The Blues were keen to bring him to Stamford Bridge this summer, but they were unable to finalise an agreement and he is now heading to Turin, as confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

He posted on X: “Kerim Alajbegović to Juventus, here we go! Deal in place between all parties today.

“Juventus to pay €35m package to Bayer Leverkusen, add-ons included — expected to be €33m easy plus €2m difficult. Alajbegović wanted Juve, contract now also agreed with Bosnian gem.”

Genesis Antwi close to Strasbourg loan

Chelsea youngster Genesis Antwi is in advanced talks over a loan move to sister club Strasbourg, according to Football Insider.

The Sweden U21 international is one of the most highly-rated academy players at Stamford Bridge and he was only omitted from the club’s pre-season tour in order to complete a temporary exit.

Antwi made 31 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea’s youth team last season, scoring two goals and providing six assists from right-back.

Como ready to submit new Trevoh Chalobah bid

Como are ready to submit a fresh offer for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, as per Italian transfer reporter Nicolo Schira.

The England international has already agreed personal terms with Cesc Fabregas’ side, but Como are yet to match Chelsea’s asking price of €35m and the deal remains in doubt as a result.

However, they are now willing to return to the negotiating table with a new bid as they look to finalise a deal for the centre-back.
