Chelsea Transfer News Today: Enzo Fernandez's wife drops hint as deal agreed
FootballTransfers runs through the latest Chelsea transfer news, rumours and gossip, including updates on Enzo Fernandez and Tyrique George.
Enzo Fernandez latest
Enzo Fernandez’s wife, Valentina Cervantes, insists that she remains happy in London amid rumours that a summer move to Real Madrid could be on the cards.
The Argentina international has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu, but Los Blancos have released an official statement confirming they aren’t in talks over a summer deal.
When asked if she is looking forward to moving to Madrid by El Chiringuito, Cervantes said: “Honestly, I’m fine, my son was born in England, they go to school there, so I’m very happy too.”
“Any team is fine with me. Whichever team it is will be fine. To me, all teams are the same.”
Tyrique George sale agreed
Chelsea have reached a full agreement to sell Tyrique George to Everton for a transfer fee that could reach €28 million.
The England U21 international joined David Moyes’ side on a short-term loan deal during the January transfer window and despite struggling for consistent game time, the Toffees have decided to bring him back to the club on a permanent basis.
George played just 210 Premier League minutes from a possible 1,170 after arriving at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but Moyes is understood to have been impressed by his performances and Everton have now reached a full agreement to sign him this summer, according to BBC Sport.
This has been confirmed by transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano, who posted on X: “Tyrique George to Everton, here we go! Deal sealed between all the parties including player side.
“£18m (€21m) fixed fee, £6m (€7m) add-ons and 15% sell-on clause for Chelsea. Long term deal for George. Chelsea maintain excellent relationship with Everton and with Tyrique.”
Andrey Santos wanted
Manchester United have reportedly rekindled their interest in Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos following their failure to sign Mateus Fernandes.
Man Utd were linked with a possible move for Santos last summer and they have now rekindled their interest in the 22-year-old, who is reportedly open to leaving Chelsea this summer due to competition for places in west London.
It’s understood that Xabi Alonso’s side are willing to listen to offers for Santos and The Guardian. report that he is valued at around €58 million (£50m), with Newcastle United also keeping tabs on his situation.
Man Utd’s interest in the Brazil midfielder has been confirmed by both David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano, with Santos potentially set to depart Stamford Bridge this summer.
Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli terms agreed
Chelsea have finalised scholarship terms with talented academy star Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli, according to transfer news expert David Ornstein.
The 16-year-old is regarded as one of the best talents in England and Chelsea have moved quickly to agree fresh terms with the teenager in a bid to ward off interest from numerous top clubs across Europe.
Nicoll-Jazuli, who has already trained with the Blues first-team, is understood to have turned down approaches from abroad and he has signed a scholarship deal at Chelsea, as per Ornstein. He is expected to move onto a professional contract when he turns 17 years old in January 2027.
Arsenal used a similar tactic to retain Max Dowman last year, with the England wonderkid agreeing professional terms several months before his 17th birthday as they looked to fight off significant transfer interest.
Nicoll-Jazuli made 35 appearances for Chelsea’s youth teams last season, scoring two goals and providing six assists from various midfield roles.
Reggie Watson terms agreed
In addition to Nicoll-Jazuli, Chelsea have also agreed scholarship terms with fellow academy starlet Reggie Watson, as per Football.London.
The midfielder made 17 appearances for Chelsea U18s last season and the club have high hopes for the 16-year-old.
Como confirm Trevoh Chalobah admiration
Como sporting director Carlalberto Ludi has confirmed his admiration for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah amid their pursuit of the England international.
The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Como this summer, while fellow Serie A side Inter Milan are also understood to be interested in signing him before Deadline Day.
When asked about the Chelsea star, Ludi told Gianluca Di Marzio: “Chalobah is a very strong player,” but he refused to elaborate.
Pedro Neto to Liverpool?
Pedro Neto has been tentatively linked with a move away from Chelsea this summer, and he is “open” to joining Liverpool, according to IndyKaila.
The Portugal winger made 52 appearances for Chelsea last season, scoring 10 goals, and it remains to be seen if Liverpool will pursue a deal amid their desire to sign a new right winger as Mohamed Salah’s replacement.
