Transfer Rumours: Arsenal agreement as Khephren Thuram deal explodes into life
FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours and gossip from 5 July, including the latest updates on Khephren Thuram, Leandro Trossard and Crysencio Summerville.
Thuram available
Juventus have put midfielder Khephren Thuram up for sale, TuttoSport writes.
The Bianconeri are planning to sign Franck Kessie following his departure from Al-Ahli and are looking to free up funds and room in the squad by offloading Thuram, who could fetch a handsome fee.
It is claimed that Man Utd, Liverpool and Nottingham Forest are interested in the Frenchman. Juventus are said to be demanding between €40 million and €50m.
Trossard to be sold
Arsenal have agreed a €20m deal with Besiktas for Leandro Trossard, The Athletic has confirmed.
The Gunners have accepted the Turkish club's offer for a permanent transfer, which is made up of an upfront fee of €18m and a further €2m in potential bonuses. However, the deal will not be finalised now.
Trossard has yet to agree personal terms with Besiktas, and any progress is only expected to be made after Belgium's World Cup campaign. The Red Devils play the USA in the round of 16 on Monday.
Summerville's clause
Crysencio Summerville has a release clause in his West Ham contract, TEAMtalk claims.
The Netherlands international is expected to leave the Hammers following their demotion to the Championship, and there is no shortage of interest. Chelsea, Man Utd and PSG are among the clubs keen to sign the winger.
It was previously suggested that West Ham had quoted a price in the region of €60m, but it is now believed that club-to-club negotiations could be bypassed altogether because of a release clause that has dropped from €80m to €47m after the East London club's relegation.
Van Dijk not for sale
Contrary to reports, Liverpool are not willing to consider offers for captain Virgil van Dijk, according to James Pearce.
The Netherlands international is in the final year of his contract and will turn 35 next week. He has been linked with AC Milan and Galatasaray, with claims surfacing earlier this week that Liverpool and Van Dijk could be open to a separation on the right terms.
However, Pearce understands that these assertions are wide of the mark. Liverpool do not want to lose their "talismanic defender," and new head coach Andoni Iraola is "counting on him" next season.
Scott approaches expected
Suitors are expected to make approaches for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott "in the coming days," Ben Jacobs reports.
The 22-year-old is emerging as a key target for several Premier League clubs now that Mateus Fernandes, Sandro Tonali and Elliot Anderson are no longer on the market. Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd and Man City all admire Scott.
Bournemouth still maintain that the England international is not for sale and that they are planning to hold contract talks with him, but clubs are likely to try and test that stance this month.
