Nicolas Jackson reportedly wants to stay at Chelsea this summer despite significant rumours suggesting that he could be sold on a permanent deal before the end of the transfer window.
The Senegal international spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich, following a bust-up with former Blues boss Enzo Maresca, but Vincent Kompany’s side opted against triggering €65 million option-to-buy clause and the 25-year-old has now returned to Chelsea ahead of the new campaign.

Reports have indicated that Jackson will have the chance to impress new manager Xabi Alonso once he reports for pre-season training following his participation at the World Cup, and The Sun have now revealed that he wants to prove himself at Chelsea rather than leave the club this summer.
Aston Villa have been heavily linked with a move for the Senegal forward in recent days, with reports suggesting that Unai Emery may look to reunite with his former Villarreal pupil following the sale of Morgan Rogers to Chelsea.
However, Jackson wants to stay at Stamford Bridge next season and fight the likes of Joao Pedro and new signing Emmanuel Emegha for a starting XI place.
The 25-year-old has scored 30 goals in 81 appearances for Chelsea to date and when asked about Jackson’s future during his first press conference since his appointment, Alonso said: “He is joining in the tour that we are starting in Asia and I am looking forward to start with Nico at that time.”

If Jackson stays at Chelsea this summer, it may lead to the permanent sale of Liam Delap, who endured a torrid debut season at Stamford Bridge last year.
The England striker scored just twice in all competitions for the Blues in 2025-26, and although he is keen to fight for his place under Alonso, Chelsea are expected to consider offers if Jackson stays at the club.
The aforementioned Emegha is set to play a back-up role to Pedro next term, following his arrival from Strasbourg, while Marc Guiu and David Datro Fofana could both depart on permanent deals. Academy starlet Shumaira Mheuka, on the other hand, is expected to be sent on a season-long loan deal once Chelsea finalise a contract extension agreement.
