Aston Villa superstar Morgan Rogers is currently Arsenal’s top summer target, FootballTransfers has been told, while Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola is also regarded as a possible signing amid his uncertain future at the Parc des Princes.

However, Arsenal have now stepped up their interest in Tzolis after finalising a deal to sell Leandro Trossard to Besiktas, and they are close to reaching an agreement with Club Brugge.

That is according to a report from The Sun, who claim that a transfer worth in the region of €41 million is on the verge of being agreed, with everything set for Tzolis to become Arsenal’s third signing of the summer after Piero Hincapie and Illan Meslier.

The former Norwich winger scored 22 goals and provided 29 assists in just 52 games across all competitions last season, and it’s “likely” that he will become an Arsenal player before the start of the 2026-27 campaign.

In the process, Tzolis will usurp Konstantinos Manolas (€36m to Napoli) as the most expensive Greek player of all time.

However, the likely arrival of Tzolis will not impact Arsenal’s bid to sign the aforementioned Rogers, who could still become their marquee summer signing despite Villa’s reluctance to sanction a sale before Deadline Day.

Analysis: Will Christos Tzolis be a good signing for Arsenal?

If Arsenal are able to finalise a deal for Tzolis, they will be signing a player in the form of his life and one who will no doubt be confident of making the step up from the Belgian Pro League to the top of the Premier League.

His record last season was immense and with Arsenal searching for a Trossard replacement, he could well prove to be a smart pick-up at around €40m.

However, there are several major concerns surrounding whether Tzolis is good enough to become a key contributor for a top European team. While his form in Belgium was elite last term, he scored just two goals and provided one assist in nine Champions League games, and it was only a few years ago that he was struggling to make an impression at Norwich City.

Tzolis could hit the ground running at Arsenal and continue the performance level he displayed in 2025-26, but a number of players have struggled in England after impressing in other European leagues and there are fears that he could follow suit.
