Florian Wirtz truth

Chelsea are not interested in signing Liverpool attacker Florian Wirtz this summer, despite reports to the contrary.

That is according to Football.London, who state that Wirtz will not be reuniting with former Bayer Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso at Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Wirtz joined Liverpool for a then Premier League record transfer fee last year, however he endured a difficult debut season at Anfield and speculative rumours have suggested that Chelsea could look to sign him following his success under Alonso’s tutelage.

However, these reports have been rubbished by Chelsea sources.

Wesley Fofana to be sold?

Wesley Fofana faces an uncertain long-term future at Chelsea, with just three years remaining on his current deal, and BBC Sport report that a fee of €34.6m will be required for Chelsea to ensure they avoid recording a loss on Fofana.

The Frenchman isn’t expected to be a guaranteed starter alongside Levi Colwill next season, with the club set to sign a new centre-back to fill this role, and he isn’t regarded as one of the Blues’ untouchables, unlike Josh Acheampong.

As a result, a sale will be considered, with Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah, Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi and Mamadou Sarr all potentially set to depart Stamford Bridge amid a centre-back clear-out.

Como want Trevoh Chalobah

Serie A side Como are interested in Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah as they prepare for their first ever Champions League campaign next season.

The England international, who was a late call-up to Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad, made 47 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea last year, establishing himself as one of the club’s first-choice centre-backs in Levi Colwill’s absence.

However, Chalobah’s current contract at Stamford Bridge is due to expire in 2028 and the club are therefore expected to field offers for the 26-year-old if they are unable to finalise fresh terms ahead of the new season.

Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Como, who are managed by ex-Blues star Cesc Fabregas, are among the teams keeping close tabs on Chalobah.

He posted on X: “Como are interested in Chelsea CB Trevoh Chalobah but there’s big gap in valuation at this stage. Difficult deal as Chelsea value Chalobah highly and Como are being careful with their budget.”

Andrea Cambiaso move

Chelsea have decided to make a “decisive” move for Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso, according to Italian publication Sportmediaset.

The 26-year-old has been earmarked as a top target to replace the departed Marc Cucurella, who has joined Real Madrid for €55 million, and it’s understood that a transfer could be on the cards before the summer window closes.

It’s reported that Chelsea are plotting an opening bid worth €25m, plus a further €5m in add-ons, although Juventus currently value the Italy star at roughly €40m and this gap in valuation remains a significant problem as things stand.

However, Sportmediaset report that Juventus must sell players before the end of June to comply with UEFA rules, and discussions are therefore ongoing as Chelsea look to bring the 26-year-old to Stamford Bridge before the start of the new season.

Enzo Fernandez latest

Real Madrid will need to offload one of Federico Valverde or Aurelien Tchouameni if they are to fund a €120million (£104m) bid for Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez, according to reports in Spain.

Fernandez has established himself as one of the Premier League’s best midfielders since joining the Blues from Benfica in February 2023, and he has been widely tipped to join Real Madrid this summer.

It’s reported that new Real boss Jose Mourinho feels his squad is currently lacking a midfielder who is capable of dictating the tempo of a game - a void he believes Fernandez would be able to fix.

However, El Nacional believe that Real would need to sell either Valverde or Tchouameni before making a move for Fernandez, with both players reportedly holding a valuation of around €100m (£86m).

Lucas Bergvall wants transfer

Chelsea target Lucas Bergvall has told Tottenham Hotspur he wants to explore a move away this summer, according to The Athletic.

Bergvall joined Spurs from Swedish side Djurgarden in 2024 and has gone on to make 78 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals, but he is now keen to depart.

Following Ange Postecoglou’s dismissal in June 2025, Bergvall saw his playing time reduce under Thomas Frank, Igor Tudor and Roberto De Zerbi last season, and he has informed Tottenham of his desire to find a new challenge this summer.

Chelsea are understood to hold a keen interest in the Sweden international, although Nottingham Forest also want to sign him amid concerns that Elliot Anderson will join Manchester City.
