Konate close to Liverpool contract extension

Ibrahima Konate’s contract extension with Liverpool is ‘advanced’ but ‘not done’, according to Romano.

Speaking on YouTube, Romano said: “The numbers of the contract are almost okay when it’s about the salary. The agreement on those numbers is quite okay, but there are some small details, but still important, to clarify between Konaté and Liverpool.

“Those details are regarding some clauses in the contract. I’m not talking about release clauses; I’m talking about specific clauses they are discussing—clauses in the contract regarding, for example, bonuses linked to trophies and these sorts of things.

“The guaranteed salary is almost okay, but there are some clauses to clarify. That’s why the new contract is still not 'green light, signed tomorrow.' That’s the point, but it has been advancing to important stages in recent weeks. So let’s wait for the outcome of these details before we know what’s going to happen with Ibrahima."

Alessandro Bastoni to Barcelona latest

Romano insisted that, while a deal is ‘on’ between Alessandro Bastoni and Barcelona, club-to-club negotiations with Inter will not happen until the end of the season.

“There is no news because there will be no news in the upcoming days. Nothing will happen this week, and I think nothing will happen next week,” Romano said. “This is a story probably for May or June—not something that probably we will bring into the end of the market in August or something like that.

“As of today, the expectation is not for the Bastoni story to accelerate this month in April. I don't expect that. Why? Because Inter are busy with the title race, and Barcelona are busy with their own races.

“At the moment, the situation is that Barcelona are talking with Alessandro Bastoni’s camp, as I told you since December. The feeling is very good between Bastoni and Barcelona.

“The negotiation on personal terms is proceeding, but at the moment it is still not something agreed and done. The club-to-club negotiation has not started yet. You will see many reports: 40 million, 45 million, Inter want 70, Inter want 60... every week is different, but the club-to-club negotiation has not started yet. So it’s still early.

“The deal is 'on' on the player side, but as a negotiation between Barça and Inter, it has not started yet. That’s the status of the story."

Camavinga wants Real Madrid stay

Romano also revealed that Eduardo Camavinga ‘loves’ Real Madrid and is not looking to leave the club, however the Spanish giants would be open to his departure for a ‘big proposal’.

“What I can tell you on Camavinga, as there are many reports around, is that in case there is a good proposal for the player, Real Madrid could decide to assess proposals and opportunities for Camavinga in the summer transfer window,” Romano said.

“But as of today, my understanding is that Real Madrid are not actively trying to sell Camavinga. Real Madrid are not offering Camavinga to clubs; his agents are not offering Camavinga to clubs. Camavinga is not showing a desire to leave Real Madrid, according to my information.

“If there is a top club and a top proposal in the summer, we will see what happens. But as of today, Camavinga is not actively trying to leave Real Madrid. Camavinga wants to fight for his place at Real Madrid; Camavinga loves Real Madrid, so he still wants to find a way to continue at Real Madrid also in the future.

“On the Real Madrid side, he is not an absolutely untouchable player. If a big proposal arrives and if the player is keen, the negotiation could be possible. But it doesn't mean that Real Madrid are telling Camavinga, 'You are out of the project.' That’s not the case.

“Regarding Paris Saint-Germain, I’m not aware of PSG actively working on a Camavinga deal as of today; we will see later on. Premier League clubs have already started making some calls to understand the situation, but at the moment, that’s it."

Real Madrid open to wonderkid sale

Goncalo Garcia could be sold by Real Madrid this summer after emerging interest from teams across Europe, according to Romano.

“On Gonzalo García, the possibility for the striker to leave Real Madrid is concrete in the summer transfer window,” Romano said. “From what I understand, he has many possibilities around Europe. For example, Italian clubs wanted Gonzalo García in the January transfer window—Como wanted him—so there are several Italian clubs interested.

“There are more clubs around Europe—in Germany, Spain, Portugal, and England—interested in Gonzalo García. Why? Because Gonzalo is a very good talent, but also because it’s very difficult to find a center striker who is physical and young. In modern football, that is not something easily available on the market.

“So, Gonzalo García could be an opportunity in the summer, but it depends also on the proposals and what the player wants to do. It’s still early stages. There are many clubs calling and offering different kinds of projects.

“Why didn’t he leave in January? Because Real Madrid decided to let Endrick go on loan, and they didn’t want both Gonzalo García and Endrick to leave in the same window. But this summer for Gonzalo García could be a different situation, so he could eventually be one to watch for sure."

Anthony Gordon to Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich are interested in signing Anthony Gordon this summer but much will depend on Newcastle’s stance over their star winger.

Romano said: “There is a possibility Newcastle sell one or two top players in this summer transfer window. It’s about Financial Fair Play; it’s about the cost of the squad. They have to consider exits—it could be one, it could be two—based on opportunities, proposals, and what the players want to do.

“So, Anthony Gordon has chances to leave Newcastle in the summer. There is also a lot of interest in Sandro Tonali, and let’s see what happens with Bruno Guimarães. I’m not saying that Newcastle are going to sell all these players—that’s not the case. Newcastle will try to keep as many as possible, but at the moment, there is a possibility Anthony Gordon could be on his way out in case of a big proposal.

“Many questions on Bayern Munich. There are several clubs interested, also in the Premier League. I would not underestimate Premier League clubs in this race for Anthony Gordon in case there is a door open to his exit.

“Bayern are looking at wingers on the market—that’s not new. We’ve seen links with Yankuba Minteh and now links with Anthony Gordon. There will be more for sure. But at the moment, what I’m told is that it’s still early, with several clubs involved in the first round of discussions. There is interest also from the Premier League, not only from Germany. So, let's wait and see.”
