Liam Rosenior confirms summer transfer wish

Liam Rosenior has confirmed that he would like Chelsea to change their transfer strategy during the upcoming summer window.

The Blues have almost exclusively signed players under the age of 23 years old since BlueCo arrived in 2022, but Rosenior wants his squad to be bolstered by more battle-hardened stars.

Speaking ahead of the Blues’ FA Cup clash versus Port Vale, Rosenior was asked about the club’s summer plans. In response, he said: “Bring in players with emotional stability, different characters who can, in difficult moments, understand what is needed to win.”

Sky Sports have confirmed that Chelsea want to sign proven Premier League players this summer, with a huge transfer window incoming.

Enzo Fernandez sanctioned

Meanwhile, during the same press conference, Rosenior confirmed that vice-captain Enzo Fernandez has been sanctioned after his comments during the international break.

The 25-year-old has dropped several hints suggesting that he would like to join Real Madrid this summer and the club have decided to take action with a punishment.

“I spoke with Enzo an hour ago. As a football club, with me as part of the decision, he won't be available for tomorrow's game or Manchester City next Sunday. A line was crossed in terms of our culture and what we want to build,” Rosenior confirmed.

“Enzo, firstly, as a character, a person and a player, I have the utmost respect. He's frustrated because he wants us to be successful. In terms of the decision, it's not all about me, or the sporting directors, the ownership, the players, we are aligned in our decision.

“The door is not closed on Enzo. It's a sanction. You have to protect the culture, and in terms of that, a line was crossed."

Rosenior added: "It's not ideal. A lot of this stems from a difficult 10 days. I'll go back to the first game against PSG, it all fell apart in 15 minutes and there was a huge emotional dump that led into the next three games.

“The comments from Enzo, and Cucu's interview, stems from that. It stems from a good place where they want the club to succeed.”

Morgan Rogers ready to join

Chelsea target Morgan Rogers is reportedly ready to leave Aston Villa this summer, despite signing a new long-term contract last year.

The England international penned fresh terms until 2031 in November, but he continues to be linked with a high-profile exit and it’s claimed that he is now willing to depart Unai Emery’s side in order to join one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.

Rumours have previously indicated that the 23-year-old is likely to remain at Villa for at least another season, but The Sun report that is now open to leaving the club in order to join one of the “Premier League’s biggest hitters.”

It’s understood that Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all long-term admirers of the England superstar, while Manchester United are also involved in the race to sign him amid their pursuit of a player capable of replacing Bruno Fernandes if he departs Old Trafford this summer.

Moises Caicedo responds to Real Madrid speculation

Moises Caicedo has insisted that he is happy at Chelsea, despite speculation suggesting that he is wanted by Real Madrid ahead of this summer.

Speaking to AS (via Sport Witness), Caicedo admitted: “You never know in football, don’t you think? I have a contract with Chelsea now. The truth is, I haven’t thought about any other club or leaving London, but you never know.

“All I want is to enjoy myself. I have a contract and I want to keep playing as long as God allows. After that, we’ll see what happens and what surprises the future holds.”

He added: “Yes, Chelsea are a great club. They’ve helped me a lot since I arrived. I want to repay them and stay there as long as I can.”

Said El Mala latest

Chelsea have been told that Koln are ready to make a “quick sale” of transfer target Said El Mala - but the Stamford Bridge club have been sent a stern warning that Brighton are also right in the hunt for one of the Bundesliga’s breakout stars of the season.

El Mala has scored 10 goals and produced four assists in just 27 Bundesliga appearances this season, only 13 of which have been starts. This form has earmarked the 19-year-old as one of the players to watch ahead of the summer.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for the teenager for several weeks, and El Mala’s saga is set to accelerate imminently, with Florian Plettenberg confirming on X that the teenager is being teed up for a “quick sale” by Koln.

Koln are currently locked in talks with several clubs over El Mala’s sale, with the Bundesliga side eager to offload the youngster to the Premier League. The implicit reason for this is that clubs from England are likely to offer the best price for the talented teenager.

While El Mala has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €22.5 million - up from €1.8m last summer thanks to his spectacular breakthrough season - Koln are said to be “convinced” that €40m will not be enough to persuade them to sell, the Sky Sport Deutschland transfer expert says.
