Official: Moises Caicedo signs new Chelsea contract

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has officially signed a new contract at Stamford Bridge, keeping him at the club until 2033.
The Ecuador international moved to Stamford Bridge from Brighton & Hove Albion for a fee of €116.6 million in 2023 and he has been one of Chelsea’s top performers since his arrival at the club.

Caicedo had five years remaining on his current contract with Liam Rosenior’s side, but he has been rewarded for his recent form with improved contract terms.
An agreement was reached with the Ecuadorian's camp on Thursday afternoon and Chelsea have now officially announced his new deal, which has come with a salary increase.
Caicedo told the Chelsea website: "I am so happy to have extended my contract at Chelsea. I believe in this team, this club and I know we’re going in the right direction. We’ve only just begun together.
"There is still a lot more to achieve, and I’m very hungry to keep improving every day. I want to win more trophies with Chelsea and give everything for this club and for the fans.
"We have enjoyed some great times together already and my dream is to become a Chelsea legend, and I will work as hard as possible to make that happen."
The 24-year-old has followed in Reece James’ footsteps, who also signed a new contract at Stamford Bridge earlier this year. It comes as a major boost for BlueCo, who have lost the support of the Chelsea fanbase after one win in the club’s last seven Premier League matches.

A joint-protest with Strasbourg fans has been scheduled to take place ahead of their clash versus Manchester United on Saturday evening, with supporters eager for the BlueCo ownership to leave after four years of stagnation.
Chelsea are in danger of missing out on European football entirely this season and their transfer strategy has been widely criticised by fans, pundits and now players. Marc Cucurella has hit out at the club's refusal to sign experienced stars, while Enzo Fernandez has also made his desire to leave known.
Caicedo's decision to stay at Stamford Bridge will therefore provide some much-needed relief for the Chelsea hierarchy, and they will hope that others follow suit.
