Transfer Rumours: Chelsea in Real Madrid boost as Romano drops Rogers confirmation
FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours from 16 April, including the latest updates on Morgan Rogers, Jacobo Ramon and Julian Alvarez.
Romano confirms Rogers sale possible
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Aston Villa will struggle to keep hold of star attacker Morgan Rogers this summer.
The England international is fielding interest from numerous clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd and PSG. Though he recently extended his contract, it is thought that he would be receptive to a move after this season.
Villa don't wish to sell, but Romano states that their resolve could easily be broken with an "important proposal." It is thought that Rogers could cost north of €100 million this summer.
Real Madrid want Ramon back - but not until 2027
Real Madrid have informed Como defender Jacobo Ramon that they are not planning to re-sign him until next year, TEAMtalk claims.
The young centre-back has been a revelation in Serie A after leaving Los Blancos for Como last summer. His form has attracted the attention of Arsenal, Chelsea and others.
The Blues, in particular, have been heavily linked with Ramon. Real Madrid's decision is a boost for Chelsea, but the Spanish giants ultimately still retain control of Ramon's future via a cheap buy-back clause.
Arsenal's Alvarez plan
Arsenal are planning to sell Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz to raise funds to sign Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, as per CaughtOffside.
Atleti are unwilling to sell the Argentina international and will not listen to offers below €120m this summer. Consequently, Arsenal are looking for ways to generate the necessary resources that could tempt the Spanish club into a sale.
Meanwhile, the Gunners are engaged in discussions with Alvarez's camp. They want to get buy-in from the player before proceeding with negotiations with Atleti.
Romero to leave Spurs
Tottenham captain Cristian Romero will leave the club this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
All parties are aligned that it is in the best interest of everyone involved to go their separate ways after this hugely disappointing season. However, Tottenham will not sell the Argentina international on the cheap.
"There is a feeling around all people involved in this story, on the player's side, and then on the club side, it is probably going to be time for Cuti Romero to leave in the summer transfer window," Romano said.
"We know it's always difficult to negotiate with Tottenham, especially when it's about top players. They are tough, and so obviously, let's see who is prepared to pay what Tottenham want."
Nygren wants out of Celtic
Sweden international Benjamin Nygren has his heart set on leaving Celtic this summer, Football Insider reports.
The versatile attacking midfielder has been the Hoops' prime attacking threat this season, scoring a whopping 19 goals, which is 10 more than Celtic's next best scorer.
This has seen him attract interest from various suitors, including the likes of Tottenham and Brighton, and it is now claimed that Nygren has already decided that he will leave Celtic this summer.
