Transfer Rumours: Chelsea want Kvaratskhelia as summer demand issued
FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours and gossip from 10 March, including the latest updates on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Karl Etta Eyong.
Chelsea want Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
Chelsea have reportedly entered the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain superstar Khvicha Kvaratskhelia amid rumours he could leave the Ligue 1 champions this summer.
Several Premier League clubs have subsequently been linked with a move for the 25-year-old and Arsenal are among the teams eyeing a potential swoop as Mikel Arteta’s side look to bring a new left winger to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Chelsea have also now joined the race to sign Kvaratskhelia, according to a bombshell report from Spanish publication Fichajes.
New boss Liam Rosenior is reportedly a huge admirer of the PSG superstar and he is keen to bring him to west London this summer in order to form a formidable attacking unit alongside Cole Palmer, Estevao Willian and Joao Pedro.
Mikel Arteta ‘demand’
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has set his sights on completing the signing of Levante striker Karl Etta Eyong during the upcoming summer transfer window, according to Fichajes.
The Gunners bolstered their attack with the addition of Sporting CP centre forward Viktor Gyokeres last year, but he has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League and the north London giants have subsequently been linked with a number of potential replacements.
Atletico Madrid superstar Julian Alvarez is understood to be Arsenal’s priority target for 2026, although Arteta is instead eager for the club to finalise a surprise deal for Eyong, whose current contract at Levante includes a €40 million release clause.
Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with a move for the 22-year-old in recent months, while CSKA Moscow submitted several unsuccessful offers during the winter window in a bid to secure his signature.
Liverpool eye Eli Junior Kroupi
Liverpool are reportedly firmly in the race to sign Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi this summer, despite their recent purchases of Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike.
Arne Slot’s side are expected to sign at least one new central defender to replace Ibrahima Konate, who is currently set to depart on a Bosman deal in July, while they are also eager to land a new central midfielder and a new winger.
In addition, French publication Telefoot (via Le10Sport) claim that Liverpool are ready to challenge for the signing of Bournemouth star Kroupi, who has mostly been deployed as a centre forward or a No.10 since his arrival on the south coast.
It has been reported that Bournemouth are keen to agree a new contract with Kroupi’s representatives in order to ward off suitors, but Arsenal and Chelsea are among the clubs heavily linked with a summer move for the 19-year-old.
Telefoot now report that Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are also interested in signing Kroupi this summer, with the teenager potentially set to be on the move ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Celtic consider permanent Marcelo Saracchi deal
Celtic are reportedly weighing up a permanent deal for Boca Juniors defender Marcelo Saracchi, whose loan spell with the Scottish giants is due to end this summer.
The 27-year-old has made 19 appearances across all competitions since his arrival at Celtic Park on a season-long loan deal in August and it’s understood that his parent club are keen to finalise a sale this summer.
Saracchi missed two months of the campaign due to a hamstring injury and he has been forced to play a back-up role to Kieran Tierney at left-back since his return to full fitness, and a permanent move to Celtic will almost certainly depend on whether he is willing to accept this position in the squad.
As per a report from Football Insider, Celtic are open to signing Saracchi permanently if he expresses a desire to finalise an agreement.
Man Utd in Yan Diomande race
Manchester United are firmly among the contenders to sign RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Ivory Coast international has been in sublime form this campaign and he is wanted by a number of top clubs across Europe, including Bayern Munich and Liverpool.
However, Romano has confirmed that Man Utd want to sign him too. He told his YouTube channel: “United scouts were present at the recent RB Leipzig match against Augsburg to watch Diomande in action. He scored in that game and he has been performing very well recently.
“Several top clubs are monitoring him, but Man Utd’s continued scouting presence shows they are keeping a close eye on the situation. However, he is not the only option on United’s shortlist and they have several options for the left-wing position.”
