Liverpool ready to back Arne Slot with €80m summer signing
Liverpool are reportedly preparing an €80m summer bid for Nottingham Forest defender Murillo as they search for a replacement for Ibrahima Konate.
Konate, 26, is currently set to leave Anfield when his contract expires in July and despite rumours that an extension could be agreed with the Frenchman, he is yet to pen fresh terms with Arne Slot’s side.
As a result, the Reds are now planning for life without Konate next season and they have added Murillo to their transfer wishlist amid their pursuit of a new centre-back.
That is according to a report from Spanish publication Fichajes, who claim that an €80m offer is being prepared by Liverpool officials as they look to tempt Nottingham Forest into a sale during the 2026 summer transfer window.
Liverpool added Giovanni Leoni to their first-team squad last year, however he has missed almost the entire season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament and the club are desperate to bring another central defender to the club after missing out on Marc Guehi to Manchester City.
Liverpool want to sign Murillo
Club Brugge star Joel Ordonez has been heavily linked with an Anfield switch in recent months, although the reigning Premier League champions have now reportedly turned their attention to finalising a deal for Murillo, who is also wanted by Chelsea this summer.
The Brazilian has just over three years on his current deal at Nottingham Forest, having signed a contract extension last January, and his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €65.5m following his impressive form over the past 12 months.
Forest, however, are set to demand a fee of at least €80m, even if they are relegated back down to the Championship, and Liverpool are reportedly willing to match this valuation this summer.
The Reds are also set to sign a new winger this summer, while they could be forced into the central midfield market too if Alexis Mac Allister departs the club.
