Transfer rumours: Man Utd target surprise deal as Kvaratskhelia option appears
Manchester United are eyeing surprise midfield signings this summer with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia emerging as a potential Premier League target and young prospect Kennet Eichhorn also on the club’s radar.
Man Utd tipped to make ‘eye-brow raising’ signings
Man Utd could make some leftfield midfield signings this summer, according to The Athletic journalist Andy Mitten.
Bolstering the engine room is Man Utd's main priority after this season, and several of their top targets are already well known to the public. However, Andy Mitten argues that there are also several as yet undisclosed players on the club's radar.
Indeed, he says that there are a few potential options in Spain that "would absolutely raise eyebrows" if signed by the Old Trafford club this summer.
ANALYSIS: Little has been given away about their plans from this remark, but after a successful summer 2025 transfer campaign, Ineos’ new backroom team is one that looks like it should be trusted to do the right things.
Kvaratskhelia puts Premier League sides on alert
PSG winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could leave the Champions League winners in the summer amid claims from several members of the squad that he is too selfish and is prone to making the wrong decisions.
The Georgia international elevated Luis Enrique’s side in the latter part of last term but has found this campaign at Parc des Princes trickier.
His situation will particularly interest Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd, all of whom are known to be on the lookout for wingers ahead of the summer.
ANALYSIS: Kvaratskhelia has been in indifferent form for much of the season at PSG and has not been as decisive as they might have hoped given the injury issues they have faced. While this is surprising news, there could be some logic to the former Napoli man being moved on at the right price.
Arsenal and Man Utd tracking Eichhorn
Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Kennet Eichhorn is being followed by both Arsenal and Manchester United, according to Christian Falk.
The 16-year-old, who has a release clause of €10 million, has been favourably compared to Toni Kroos.
Eichhorn is already excelling in the 2.Bundesliga this season, which has seen his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) rise to €6.5m.
ANALYSIS: Has he is still only 16, Eichhorn will not be eligible to move to the Premier League until 2028. However, with Premier League clubs increasingly eager to snap up young talent early, it would be no surprise to see Arsenal and Man Utd look for a solution.
