Chelsea Transfer News Today: Blues open talks for €65m wonderkid as Rosenior picks new goalkeeper
FootballTransfers runs through the latest Chelsea transfer news, rumours and gossip, including updates on Vitor Roque and Aleksandar Pavlovic.
Chelsea set for big money pursuit for Vitor Roque
Chelsea have reportedly outlined former Barcelona wonderkid Vitor Roque as a target this summer after the Brazilian’s return to form back in Brazil with Palmeiras.
Roque joined Barcelona in 2024 as an 18-year-old but failed to settle in Spain and was quickly sold to Palmeiras a year later for €25 million where he has netted 19 times in 37 league matches.
The situation has led to Brazilian outlet Bolavip claiming that Chelsea are preparing a ‘multimillion dollar’ offer in the summer if the 21-year-old keeps up his good form.
It has also been claimed that Chelsea had submitted a €50m offer in December for Roque but the amount was ‘insufficient’ for Palmeiras.
Roque is believed to be ready to return to Europe while Chelsea are said to see the forward as an ‘ideal’ player for their project due to his potential and ‘explosive’ talent.
Chelsea to open talks for Bayern Munich wonderkid
Chelsea are ‘expected’ to open discussions with Bayern Munich in the coming weeks over a move for Aleksandar Pavlovic, according to CaughtOffside.
Pavlovic was born in Munich and came through Bayern’s academy, with the 21-year-old having made 20 Bundesliga appearances this season for Vincent Kompany’s side.
Manchester City are also said to be interested in Pavlovic but the player’s priority is said to be to remain with Bayern and any talks with Chelsea are ‘unlikely to lead to a breakthrough’.
A deal worth €65m has been mooted but Bayern are not looking to sell Pavlovic, while the midfielder has also insisted he could see him spending the rest of his career with the German giant, making the prospect of a move a difficult one.
Jackson still holding out for ‘dream’ Bayern Munich transfer
Nicolas Jackson has not given up hope of securing his ‘dream’ move to Bayern Munich despite the Bundesliga champions looking unlikely to keep hold of the Chelsea loanee.
Jackson joined Bayern on loan on deadline day last summer but the Senegalese international has struggled for minutes in light of Harry Kane’s prolific form and the €70m option to make his move permanent is not expected to be triggered.
According to The Sun, Vincent Kompany has held talks with Jackson and told the 24-year-old that he remains a key part of his squad and that nothing will be decided on his future until the summer.
Jackson has therefore decided to shun all transfer talks and looked to focus on securing a permanent move to Bayern, with Chelsea not looking to keep hold of the striker regardless.
Chelsea ‘confident’ of beating Man Utd to striker transfer
Chelsea are reportedly “confident” of beating Manchester United to the signing of Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi this summer.
The Germany international has been widely tipped to leave the Signal Iduna Park ahead of the 2026-27 season and rumours suggest he is holding out for a move to the Premier League.
German publication BILD claim that a contract extension has been offered to the 24-year-old, but he is yet to agree fresh terms with Niko Kovac’s side and his new agent Jorge Mendes reportedly wants a release clause to be included in the deal in order to allow his client to leave at any time.
Arsenal and Liverpool have both been touted as potential destinations for the 24-year-old, although it is Chelsea and Man Utd who currently lead the race to sign him, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.
Chelsea are reportedly “confident” of beating their Premier League rivals to Adeyemi’s signature this summer amid their continued pursuit of attacking reinforcements.
Chelsea reject interest in wonderkid as Rosenior picks new goalkeeper
Newcastle and Tottenham are among the sides that are understood to have contacted Chelsea over a move for goalkeeper Mike Penders this summer,
Penders has been on loan at Strasbourg after joining Chelsea from Genk for €20m in 2024 and the 20-year-old has impressed during his time in France.
However, according to TEAMtalk, Chelsea have informed interested sides that Penders is not available and there is a likelihood that the Belgian could become Liam Rosenior’s first choice shot stopper next season.
Rosenior has provided ‘overwhelmingly positive’ feedback over Penders after managing him at Strasbourg and the club held off making a move for Mike Maignan of Milan due to the youngster’s potential as Chelsea’s number one.
