Rangers are on the verge of signing Hansa Rostock striker Ryan Naderi immediately after "significantly" upping their offer, according to German media.

The German has been the subject of an intense tug of war between Danny Rohl and third-tier side Hansa Rostock. Naderi is enjoying a brilliant season in the 3. Liga and has attracted the interest of his compatriot.

Rangers made several bids last week, which were described as "mega offers" by German third-tier standards. The first proposal clocked in at around €3 million. Despite the money on offer, Rostock refused to sell.

Hansa informed Rangers that they intended to keep Naderi for the remainder of the season because they are chasing promotion. However, the player is desperate for the move and has successfully convinced his club to give in.

Earlier on Monday, it was revealed that Rangers and Rostock had reached a verbal agreement over a summer transfer. It was proposed that Naderi would see out the season in Germany before heading to Glasgow.

Naderi to join Rangers now?

However, there has been another twist. According to Sky Germany, Rangers have made yet another offer with the intention of getting Hansa to sell the 22-year-old immediately.

The Ibrox outfit have "significantly improved" their bid for Naderi, who is already on his way to the UK for his medical. It is expected that the examination will take place in Manchester.

Hansa have yet to give the final green light for this deal to go through now rather than in the summer. However, it seems that there is a solid chance of Rangers securing his immediate arrival.

The Gers have also explored a move for Southampton forward Cameron Archer, but this deal is contingent on several pieces in England falling into place, as the Saints could also lose Adam Armstrong to Wolves.

The Championship club first need to source a replacement before sanctioning Archer's exit.
