Man Utd to submit €95m bid for their next superstar forward
Manchester United and Liverpool are both willing to offer €95 million for Barcelona superstar Raphinha, according to a sensational report in Spain.
The Brazil international has enjoyed a stellar stint at Camp Nou since his arrival from Leeds United in 2022, but he has been continuously linked with a return to the Premier League throughout his time in Catalunya.
Raphinha signed fresh terms with Hansi Flick’s side last May, but his current contract will only have two years remaining this summer and both Liverpool and Man Utd are ready to test the waters with a €95m bid.
That is according to Spanish publication El Nacional, who report that both clubs are willing to make a “significant financial effort” in order to tempt Barcelona into a sale.
Raphinha has scored 13 goals and provided five assists in 21 matches across all competitions so far this season, and Liverpool reportedly view him as a suitable replacement for Mohamed Salah, who is widely expected to leave for Saudi Arabia this summer.
Meanwhile, Man Utd have earmarked him as a marquee forward signing, despite the recent additions of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko last year.
Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal have reportedly attempted to secure Raphinha’s signature on a number of occasions too, however their advances have been rejected by the Brazilian, who has no intention of moving to the Middle East while he is in his prime.
Raphinha alternatives
In addition to Raphinha, Liverpool and Man Utd have also both been linked with a move for RB Leipzig starlet Yan Diomande, who has emerged as one of the brightest prospects in world football since his arrival from Leganes last summer.
The Ivorian is also expected to command a transfer fee in the region of €100m, with Arsenal among the competitors keeping close tabs on his development too.
However, Leipzig are keen to retain his services until at least 2027 and are set to drive a hard bargain in transfer negotiations this summer.
