The 13-time Premier League champions spent a whopping €250.7 million on five new players during the 2025 summer window and they currently appear unwilling to add further investment while the search for a new permanent manager is ongoing.

Michael Carrick was named as interim boss earlier this week and his second spell in charge began with a memorable 2-0 victory over arch-rivals Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.

However, it remains to be seen if he will be handed the job on a permanent basis later this year, with the Man Utd hierarchy expected to wait until after the conclusion of the current season before making a final decision.

While Man Utd are unlikely to appoint a permanent manager until this summer, they have already identified Kalulu as a possible target ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

That is according to Italian publication Calciomercato, who state that Aston Villa, Man Utd and Tottenham Hotspur are all eyeing a move for the Juventus defender amid his impressive recent form in Turin.

Man Utd chase Pierre Kalulu

After spending the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Juventus, Kalulu joined the club on a permanent deal in July and it’s reported that a fee of €30 million will be required to acquire his signature this summer.

Man Utd already have a stacked centre-back roster that includes Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire, Matthijs de Ligt, Lisandro Martinez and Ayden Heaven, however Kalulu has now emerged as their latest transfer target.

The Frenchman, who has three senior caps for his country, has played every available minute for Juventus so far this season and he has three-and-a-half years remaining on his current deal with the Serie A giants.

Man Utd are also eager to purchase a new central midfielder this summer, with Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton among the players on their transfer radar.
