The west London giants have only won one of their last nine Premier League fixtures and they have fallen to eighth place in the English top flight table as a result of their poor recent form.

With Brentford, Crystal Palace, West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leeds United and Burnley their next six league opponents, Chelsea will be aiming to close the gap to Liverpool in fourth place over the next month, and they could look to bolster their squad in order to help achieve this goal.

Multiple reports have suggested that Chelsea will be fairly inactive in regards to new signings in January, but Spanish publication Fichajes now claim that Rosenior’s side could be set to spend €150m on Lopez and Leao.

Both players have been heavily linked with a Stamford Bridge switch in recent years, with Chelsea seriously pursuing a deal for Lopez over the summer and Leao continuously earmarked as a key target since his move from Lille to AC Milan back in 2019.

The Blues are now reportedly ready to bring them both to west London in January, with Fichajes claiming that €75m could be spent on each player.

Calum McFarlane handed senior coaching role

In addition to pursuing several January deals, Rosenior has also decided to hand Calum McFarlane a role in his coaching team.

The Chelsea U21 head coach was placed in interim change after Maresca’s departure and he was in the dugout for their 1-1 draw versus Manchester City on Sunday and their 2-1 loss against Fulham on Wednesday evening.

McFarlane was expected to return to his role with Chelsea’s U21 side, however The Daily Mail report that he will instead form part of Rosenior’s backroom staff after impressing the new Blues head coach over the past week.
