Arsenal offered chance to sign €50m winger
Arsenal have been handed a major boost in their bid to sign long-term transfer target Anthony Gordon.
The England international has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium for over a year and a move could potentially be on the cards this summer if Mikel Arteta’s side decide to pursue a transfer agreement.
That is because Newcastle United are ready to sell the 24-year-old this summer, as per transfer insider IndyKaila.
It’s claimed that Eddie Howe’s side want to bolster their forward options later this year and they are willing to offload Gordon in order to sign a replacement capable of producing better attacking numbers.
The former Everton winger has been extremely potent in the Champions League this season, scoring five goals and providing two assists in just six matches, however he has only notched three goal contributions in the Premier League.
Furthermore, it has been over a year since Gordon last scored an open-play goal in the English top flight - which came against Wolverhampton Wanderers back in January 2025.
As a result, the Magpies are reportedly considering cashing in on the 24-year-old, who currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €50 million.
Anthony Gordon to Arsenal?
Gordon has been tipped to complete a move to Arsenal on a number of occasions during his career at Newcastle, with several rumours speculating he could join the Gunners last summer.
However, Newcastle were unwilling to sanction a sale and Arsenal eventually opted against signing an out-and-out left winger despite substantial interest in Nico Williams and Rodrygo.
They instead opted to acquire Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze, although Mikel Arteta’s side have been touted to dip back into the market for a left winger this year amid rumours that Gabriel Martinelli may depart the club ahead of the 2026-27 season.
