Chelsea and Man Utd in major transfer battle as negotiations confirmed
Chelsea and Manchester United are set to battle for the signing of Sunderland midfielder Noah Sadiki next year, according to a report.
The DR Congo international arrived at the Stadium of Light from Union Saint-Gilloise for a fee of €17 million in early July and he has enjoyed a stellar start to life in the Premier League.
The 20-year-old has started all 15 of Sunderland’s English top flight matches so far this season and he has struck up an immense partnership with fellow summer signing Granit Xhaka in the middle of the park.
Sadiki’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) has risen to a career high of €24.1m amid his immense form under Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris and his progress is being closely tracked by Chelsea and Man Utd ahead of the 2026 January window.
That is according to a report from Sky Sport journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who has revealed that Sadiki has emerged as a top target for both Premier League giants.
Noah Sadiki wanted by Chelsea and Man Utd
It’s claimed that Sadiki’s performance during Sunderland’s 2-1 win over Chelsea in October alerted the Blues hierarchy, and they acted “immediately” after the game by enquiring about his potential price tag.
The Club World Cup winners hold “very serious interest” in the Black Cats midfielder, although Man Utd have reportedly identified him as a possible alternative to Carlos Baleba if the Brighton & Hove Albion star proves to be too expensive in 2026.
The Red Devils are understood to have approached Sadiki’s representatives earlier this season and they are expected to battle Chelsea for his signature next year.
Adam Wharton and Elliot Anderson are also being closely monitored by both Chelsea and Man Utd ahead of 2026, although Sadiki has now been earmarked as their latest midfield target.
