The Greek youngster has emerged as one of Europe's most exciting young talents. Aged just 18, Karetsas already has 70 senior appearances under his belt for his hometown club.

So far this term, Karetsas has notched a pair of goals and an impressive 10 assists in 27 appearances. The attacking midfielder has also made nine senior appearances for Greece to date, having previously represented Belgium at the youth level.

His Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) has skyrocketed in recent times and now stands at €25.8 million. Heading into 2026, Karetsas is believed to be one of the most sought-after commodities in European football.

Various giants, both continental and from England, have been linked with the teenager, but it is Chelsea who appear to be the most determined to wrap up a deal for the Genk starlet.

Chelsea pushing for Karetsas

At least that is according to TEAMtalk, which reports that Chelsea, in particular, have been keeping a close eye on his development this term. Arsenal are also keen, but their London rivals seem to be currently ahead in the race.

"Chelsea are making it clear to his camp that they want the next chapter of his footballing career to be in West London," the outlet asserts. The fact that the Blues already have various options for the attacking midfield is not stopping them from chasing Karetsas.

Chelsea have made it their mission to snap up the world's best talent, and they can point to the success of Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo and Estevao to convince Karetsas that his long-term future ought to be at Stamford Bridge.

It is also noted that Belgium has been a happy hunting ground for the Blues in recent decades, with the likes of Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois going down as club legends. More recently, Karetsas' former teammate Mike Penders has been signed by Chelsea.
