In-form star 'crazy' about transfer as Man Utd agree €44m deal
Exiled Manchester United striker Ramus Hojlund is 'crazy' about Napoli, according to his father.
The Denmark international is spending the season on loan in Italy after being forced out of Man Utd following the big-money signing of Benjamin Sesko.
Hojlund joined Napoli and immediately continued the trend of players thriving after leaving Old Trafford. The 22-year-old has scored four times in seven appearances and also starred on international duty for his country.
After a brief spell on the sidelines due to fitness problems, Hojlund returned for a brief cameo in midweek during Napoli's 1-0 win over Lecce, and he is now looking to get back to scoring.
If Hojlund plays a certain number of games and Napoli qualify for the Champions League, his stay will automatically become permanent for €44 million. However, recent reports have suggested that the Serie A giants and Man Utd have agreed to bring his move forward to January.
Hojlund is 'crazy' about Napoli
Speaking to Il Mattino, Hojlund's father, Anders, has revealed that the striker is loving life in Naples so far. "My son is crazy about the city, the team, and the fans," he said.
"Rasmus was interested in football almost from the moment he was very young. In general, he was always very drawn to the sport, thanks in part to me and his mother. He was already a huge sports fan in kindergarten, and at the age of four, he started playing for his first club.
"It's true, I was a footballer, but first and foremost, I tried to convey to Rasmus the importance of hard work. I always told him that working hard is essential to achieving his dream. I remember perfectly the first time he told me about his desire to become a footballer.
"I remember it as if it happened yesterday. I was sitting with him, talking about football in his room, and I was looking at a poster of Cristiano Ronaldo. Then he turned to me and said, 'I want to be as good as Cristiano!'
"All I could do was tell him how hard he needed to start training, and we needed to start training with him. Because we've all always been by his side and supported him from the very beginning.”
