The Portugal U21 international will complete a €50.8 million move to Stamford Bridge next summer, with the Blues hijacking Manchester United’s proposed deal for the winger, and he is set for an immediately prominent role in west London.

Reports have suggested that Quenda could be sent on loan upon his arrival at Chelsea, in a similar vein to Ecuador wonderkid Kendry Paez, who is currently at Strasbourg, however he will instead follow in the footsteps of Estevao Willian by being handed a first-team place.

That is according to Football.London, who report that Chelsea officials have confirmed to Quenda that he will be part of the senior squad during his debut campaign at the club.

It’s understood that Quenda has attended several Chelsea matches since his transfer to the Blues was announced, in order to understand Maresca’s preferred style of play, while he is reportedly prioritising working on his physicality ahead of his first experience of Premier League football.

Geovany Quenda to join Chelsea

Quenda will provide competition for the likes of Pedro Neto, Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho and the aforementioned Estevao when he joins Chelsea, while his arrival could well signal the end of Tyrique George’s career at his boyhood club.

The England U21 star was close to joining Fulham this summer and rumours of an exit have once again intensified ahead of the upcoming January transfer window amid interest from Crystal Palace.

Quenda has registered 21 goal contributions in 72 first-team matches for Sporting CP and he was viewed as a priority transfer target for Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim before Chelsea reached an agreement to sign him.

In addition to the Portuguese youngster, Chelsea have also agreed deals for Emanuel Emegha, Denner and Dastan Satpaev to join the club in the summer of 2026.
