Man Utd make €90m bid for Casemiro replacement as midfielder exit planned for January
Manchester United are stepping up their quest to find a replacement for Casemiro and have already had one €90 million offer knocked back.
Casemiro is out of contract at the end of the season. While he is expected to be offered a new deal by the Old Trafford side, who have seen him grow into a key part of Ruben Amorim’s plans, it will be on massively reduced wages.
With the likelihood of the Brazil international turning down such an offer given the prospect of a big payday in the Saudi Pro League, United are not only assessing their options but, according to a report in Spain, actively in the process of seeking a replacement.
Man Utd have Aurelien Tchouameni transfer bid rejected
Man Utd made an ambitious €90 million offer to Real Madrid for Aurelien Tchouameni, according to Fichajes. Around €70m of this was upfront, with €20m coming in the form of bonuses.
The Red Devils are said to have “run into a brick wall” in negotiations. Previously, it had been claimed that a bid of €100m might have prised the player away from the Bernabeu side, even with Xabi Alonso underlining that Tchouameni is key to his tactical plans.
Green light to January loan deal
Casemiro is destined to stay at Man Utd until the end of his current contract, but Amorim is seeking to move on another midfielder who has yet to gain significant game time.
Sekou Kone is poised to leave on loan in January, Manchester World reports. He was signed for €1.5m from Guidars FC at the end of the summer transfer window of 2024 but has yet to make his debut for the first team, despite being considered the fifth-choice midfielder.
He scored twice as Mali U23 beat Indonesia on Tuesday, reaffirming his talent.

News of Kone’s impending exit will serve as a blow to Kobbie Mainoo, who has similarly been looking for a loan exit in a bid to get minutes ahead of the World Cup next summer. Man Utd are reluctant to agree to this due to a lack of depth in the role.
