Chelsea transfer plan for 'next Lamine Yamal' CONFIRMED by owner
The owner of FC Kairat has confirmed Chelsea’s plan for Dastan Satpaev, who will join the Premier League giants for a reported initial fee of €2.4 million next summer.
The Kazakhstan international will arrive at Stamford Bridge following his 18th birthday next August, with the Blues finalising a deal for his signature earlier this year following an eye-catching stint in his homeland.
Satpaev has already scored 18 goals in 40 first-team appearances for Kairat, having made his debut as a 15-year-old, and he was recently dubbed “the Kazakh Lamine Yamal” by Jose Carrillo, who plays for rival side Ulytau.
Recent rumours have suggested that Satpaev could be set to immediately join Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg upon his arrival in west London next year, however these have been quashed by FC Kairat owner Kairat Boranbayev.
Chelsea’s plan for Dastan Satpaev confirmed
When asked for clarification on Chelsea’s plan for Satpaev’s future following his 18th birthday next August, Boranbayev told Kazakhstan sports journalist Nursultan Qurman (via Scout in Eurasia): “First of all, he will go to Chelsea.
“Upon his arrival, he will join their first-team for pre-season training. How that training goes will be decided by their coaching staff, led by Enzo Maresca.
“As for Strasbourg, Dastan has a contract with Chelsea, not with Strasbourg. He’s going to Chelsea and then we’ll see what happens next.”
Chelsea have sent a total of seven players on loan to Strasbourg since BlueCo purchased the Ligue 1 club in June 2023, with Andrey Santos and Djordje Petrovic among the stars to have benefitted immensely from their temporary time in France.
Meanwhile, the Blues have signed two Strasbourg players on permanent deals during the same time frame - namely Mamadou Sarr, who returned to the French club on loan this summer, and Emanuel Emegha, who will join Chelsea in 2026.
