Bruno Fernandes allowed to leave Man Utd on ONE condition
Bruno Fernandes will reportedly be allowed to leave Manchester United for €65 million next summer due to a release clause in his current contract.
The Portugal international was widely expected to move to Saudi Arabia this year, amid significant interest from Al-Hilal, but he ultimately decided to extend his career at Old Trafford, despite their failure to qualify for European football.
Fernandes is likely to be the subject of heavy transfer speculation yet again in 2026, with Bayern Munich recently joining the race to acquire his signature as they look to bolster the options available to Vincent Kompany.
It has been reported that Man Utd would demand a fee of €80m to sell Fernandes next year, however BBC Sport have now revealed that his current deal at Man Utd, which is due to expire in 2027, includes a release clause worth €65m.
Fernandes reportedly has no intention of moving to the Saudi Pro League next year, but multiple unnamed clubs in Europe are keeping tabs on his situation and he will be allowed to depart Man Utd if any interested party is willing to trigger his release clause.
Bruno Fernandes to leave Man Utd?
Speaking to BBC Sport ahead of Man Utd’s clash against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday evening, Fernandes admitted: “As I've always said, I feel good here. I want to achieve my dreams still.
“I can't talk for the club. I've seen a lot of people talking that I had an agreement to go already next season. If the club has done that agreement, it wasn't made with me. I haven't spoken with anyone.
“My agent also knows how I work. If he wants to talk to me, it will be after the World Cup. Until then, I won't speak to anyone.”
Fernandes added: “My family feels very well here. My kids love to go to school. They love the way they live here, even with the weather.
“Everyone is settled. We say sometimes the house we have here, it feels more like home than the one we have in Portugal.
“The first thing she [wife Ana] said was: 'Have you achieved everything you wanted to achieve at the club?' She knows I haven't.
“When I talk about not fulfilling my dreams at the club, it comes a lot from what she said to me.”
