Chelsea receive unexpected €80m transfer 'demand'
Eintracht Frankfurt have placed an €80 million asking price on Can Uzun amid interest from several top Premier League clubs, according to reports in Germany.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder has scored six goals and provided four assists in nine appearances across all competitions so far this season, and his form has attracted the attention of multiple elite teams.
Uzun, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea in recent weeks, boasts an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of just €22m, however Eintracht Frankfurt will demand a far higher fee to sanction a sale in 2026.
That is according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, who posted on X: “Eintracht Frankfurt with Markus Krosche [sporting director] are demanding €80 million for Can Uzun in the summer.
“The first Premier League clubs have already expressed their interest. The 19 y/o top attacking midfielder is under contract with Eintracht Frankfurt until 2029 - with no release clause. 6G/4A this season yet.”
In September, Uzun became the first teenager in history to score in each of the first four Bundesliga matches of a season and he has already been tipped to become Eintracht Frankfurt’s next big-money departure, following the recent sales of Hugo Ekitike, Omar Marmoush and Randal Kolo Muani.
Vincent Kompany gives seal of approval to Can Uzun
Speaking ahead of Bayern Munich’s 3-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, Vincent Kompany was eager to heap praise on Uzun following his immense start to the 2025-26 season.
“It's no surprise that Can is so strong,” the Bayern boss told reporters. “We've lost many top players in the Bundesliga, but there's room for a new generation of top players. Uzun is one of them.
“He has many skills: he can shoot from distance, he can tap the ball in with one touch. A young player from Frankfurt who will do that very well in the future. It makes things better for us when the other team is in a good phase.”
