Caicedo, who has emerged as a key transfer target for Real Madrid amid their pursuit of a new central midfielder, has now become the latest high-profile star to admit their admiration for Estevao.

Following the Blues’ 2-1 win over Liverpool on Saturday, Caicedo told the club’s website: “It was a great feeling when Estevao scored. He is doing a great job here and we are so happy to have him here.

“You can see on the pitch he is so good, it’s the same in training. He is showing his quality. We try to help him because the Premier League is so difficult. He is having an impact.”

Estevao was wanted by both Barcelona and Real Madrid before reaching an agreement with Chelsea, and the Blues believe he has the potential to become one of the world’s best players.

Chelsea’s summer transfer business

Estevao was one of 10 players to join Chelsea during the summer transfer window, with the club spending a whopping €339.2 million on new signings in a bid to build on their triumph at the 2025 Club World Cup.

However, Liam Delap and Dario Essugo are both currently sidelined through injury, Facundo Buonanotte is yet to make a meaningful impact following his arrival on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, while Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho and Jorrel Hato haven’t established themselves as regular starters at Stamford Bridge.

In addition, Kendry Paez and Mamadou Sarr are on loan at sister club Strasbourg.

Joao Pedro has undoubtedly been the biggest summer success story so far, although Estevao has also impressed during his time on the pitch for the Blues and he has already established himself as a fan favourite at Stamford Bridge.
