Amorim’s BROKEN RELATIONSHIP at Man Utd revealed: Exit inevitable
Details of Andre Onana’s ugly exit from Manchester United have been revealed, with the goalkeeper having left to sign for Turkish side Trabzonspor after a fallout with head coach Ruben Amorim.
Onana was a toxic presence in the Man Utd locker room in the thoughts of Amorim, and the Portuguese is delighted to see the back of him, according to The Sun.
It has been disclosed just how much the relationship between the pair had deteriorated in a short period of time since the summer.
Onana’s unsettling issues at the start of pre-season were made public by The Athletic previously. Not only did the goalkeeper return after the summer out of shape, leading to him picking up an immediate hamstring injury, he also asked for a pay rise.
The Cameroon international was unable to force his way into the starting XI beyond Altay Bayindir, and when he did have the opportunity to shine in the Carabao Cup against Grimsby, he was culpable as the Red Devils made an embarrassing exit at the hands of the League Two side on penalties.
Now damaging details of Onana’s final days at Man Utd have been revealed, with The Sun stating that his exit has “cleansed” the club of its “last remaining negative training ground influence”.
Onana snubbed Man Utd boss
Onana and Amorim’s relationship had broken down to such an extent that the goalkeeper showed a “lack of investment” on the training ground, it is claimed. This meant that he was not even acknowledging the manager.
An anonymous source claims: “It felt like Andre was there to just show up but wasn’t there or showing any team mentality.”
This accelerated Onana’s exit after it initially appeared that United were going to be happy juggling four goalkeepers.
Amorim now believes that his Man Utd squad will be better disciplined after finally getting rid of the last of the unhealthy influences, with the acid test beginning on Sunday when they meet Manchester City in a Premier League derby.

Saliba has always remained committed to Arsenal but the 24-year-old has previously admitted that trophies are the ‘only thing’ preventing him from being considered one of the best defenders in the world.
With Saliba set to star for France at the World Cup next summer, the centre-back may choose to hold off on making a decision of his future until then and also see how Arsenal’s campaign progresses, which may leave the Gunners sweating knowing that Real are ready to pounce on any uncertainty.
