Harry Kane Tottenham return admission as secret Bayern clause revealed
Harry Kane has been linked with a sensational return to Tottenham Hotspur amid reports in Germany that the Bayern Munich striker has a secret clause in his contract that could see him move to the Premier League side next summer.
Kane, 32, moved to the Bundesliga giants from his boyhood club in the summer of 2023 and has proven a prolific scorer with Bayern.
Despite the success that the England international captain has enjoyed at the Allianz Arena, Bild reports that he could move back to Spurs for just €65m. If he plans to take advantage of this, he must inform Bayern by the end of the January transfer window.
Under contract until 2027, FCB are said to be aware that Kane may not remain in Bavaria and are willing to open contract talks with the forward.
One reason he could choose to return to Tottenham is to chase Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League scoring record, which he stands 47 goals short of.
Thomas Frank admits Tottenham would love Kane back
Spurs manager Thomas Frank has admitted that he would love to have Kane in his ranks, with the North London side having struggled to replace him.
“I think there’s a lot of Tottenham fans including myself who would like to see Kane back," the Tottenham boss said.
“He’s a top player. Personally, I don’t think he will do it right now, if I’m honest, he’ll probably stay in Bayern and continue performing well.
“He was top-scorer last year and won the championship, he’s doing fantastic now.
“I don’t know what he’s thinking. Myself, I’m a traveller, I like to travel, I like to explore things as well. He’s been here for many years, so why not enjoy the time at Bayern a little bit more.
“But he’s welcome. If he wants to join us, he’s more than welcome."
