Chelsea are in talks with RB Leipzig over a “last-minute” deal for Tyrique George, according to reports in Germany.
The England U21 international handed in a transfer request in early August in a bid to force through a move, but he has been unable to secure a Stamford Bridge exit and he now faces a race against time to finalise a transfer before the window shuts at 19:00 BST.

George wants to leave his boyhood club in order to prioritise his development as a player, with the summer arrivals of both Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho set to push him further down the pecking order in west London.
The 19-year-old was brought on as Liam Delap’s replacement against Fulham on Saturday, however Chelsea have opted to recall Marc Guiu from his loan spell at Sunderland in order to provide emergency cover and George could be set to leave the Blues before the end of Transfer Deadline Day.
A proposed move to Serie A outfit has officially collapsed, as per transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano, however RB Leipzig have now ramped up their pursuit of his signature after selling Xavi Simons to Tottenham Hotspur last week.
Tyrique George to join RB Leipzig?
Leipzig are eager to bolster their attacking roster after a summer full of departures and they identified George as a key target, along with Conrad Harder, who is on the verge of arriving from Sporting CP.
That is according to Sky Germany reporter Philipp Hinze, who posted on X: “Exclusive: Contact on Deadline Day between RB Leipzig, Chelsea and Tyrique George.
“The player is being discussed again at the German Bundesliga side as another offensive alternative. A last minute move to Leipzig is possible. One to watch until the last second.”
George has made 27 first-team appearances for Chelsea after making his debut last year, scoring three goals, while his current contract at Stamford Bridge is due to expire in 2027.
