Chelsea transfer blocked by SECRET clause
Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeness has confirmed that Nicolas Jackson will not join the club on a permanent transfer next summer.
Jackson, 24, completed a season-long loan move to Bayern on Transfer Deadline Day, after being deemed surplus to requirements by the Chelsea hierarchy, and his contract at the Allianz Arena includes an obligation-to-buy clause worth €65 million.
However, Hoeness has revealed that Bayern will only be forced to sign Jackson permanently if he starts at least 40 matches during the 2025-26 campaign.
He told German outlet Sport1 (via Fabrizio Romano): “The player and his agent contribute €3m, so we pay €13.5m loan fee.
“There will definitely not be a permanent contract. That only happens if he plays 40 games from the start, it will never happen.”
Jackson was expected to join Bayern permanently next summer, however it appears as though his proposed move in 2026 is now extremely unlikely to happen.
The Senegal international will therefore be required to return to Chelsea before being offloaded elsewhere by the west London giants.
Jackson started 31 games across all competitions for Enzo Maresca’s side last season, scoring 13 goals, however he fell down the pecking order following the summer arrivals of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, and Chelsea opted to sanction a departure to Bayern.
What has Nicolas Jackson said?
While on international duty with Senegal, Jackson confirmed his true feelings about his Chelsea exit.
“[There were] very strong emotions, but not for the reasons you might think,” Jackson admitted to Italian publication Tuttosport (via The Mirror).
“I was simply very happy to sign for one of the biggest clubs in the world, to discover another league and other great players.
“At the same time, I was a little sad to leave Chelsea, my teammates, and the fans. I experienced so many strong emotions there: we won the Conference League and the Club World Cup.
“Now I’m 100% focused on my new project and I can’t wait to experience the incredible atmosphere at the Allianz Arena.”
