Victor Osimhen has officially completed a permanent transfer back to Galatasaray following a fruitful loan spell with the club last season.

The Nigeria international scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances for the Turkish giants during the 2025-26 campaign, and he has now rejoined the club on a permanent deal for €75 million.

Osimhen was also heavily linked with the likes of Al-Hilal, Chelsea and Manchester United this summer, however he eventually opted to prioritise a move back to Istanbul, despite receiving an extremely lucrative contract proposal from Saudi Arabia.

Galatasaray officially announced the signing of Osimhen on Thursday and they subsequently released a rather unusual statement confirming the salary he will earn at the club.

The Nigeria superstar has signed a four-year contract with Okan Buruk’s side and he will earn a net annual salary of €15m, in addition to a further €5m in image rights and a signing-on bonus worth €1m.

As a result, Osimhen stands to earn a total of €66m if he remains at Galatasaray for the duration of his four-year deal.

Chelsea opt against Victor Osimhen deal

Osimhen’s wage demands ultimately led to Chelsea ending their interest in his services, with the 26-year-old unwilling to reach a financial compromise with the west London giants.

This will no doubt have come to a surprise to former Blues midfielder John Obi Mikel, who repeatedly stated that Osimhen was determined to complete a blockbuster move to Stamford Bridge.

In April, Mikel told beIN Sports: “He [Osimhen] wants to play for Chelsea. I hope [he’ll be playing] somewhere in the Premier League.

“I know where we [Chelsea] stopped in terms of the contract, I know where we are. It’s an easy fix, because we’ve done all the hard work last summer. It’s so easy to just pick it up and then the deal is done.”

However, Chelsea were unable to reach an agreement with Osimhen, despite his reported desire to join the club, and they eventually signed Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap and Brighton & Hove Albion’s Joao Pedro instead.
