Vinicius Jr in 'secret transfer talks' as Arsenal and Chelsea eye BOMBSHELL deal
Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior is reportedly in “secret talks” with Manchester City ahead of a potential summer transfer.
The Brazil international is yet to reach an agreement over a contract extension with Los Blancos and he is now exploring the possibility of completing a bombshell move to the Premier League.
That is according to renowned X account IndyKaila, who posted on social media: “Exclusive: Vinicius Junior looks like he’s been in secret talks with Manchester City.
“The Real Madrid star is considering a move away. The player does have concerns with all the uncertainty surrounding those 115 charges against Man City.
“It’s no surprise he’s weighing his options just in case. The Manchester clubs, Liverpool, Arsenal & Chelsea are monitoring the situation. The player is very keen on the Premier League for this or next summer.”
Vinicius registered 41 goal contributions in 58 appearances last season, but Real Madrid are now open to a sale, with Xabi Alonso’s side currently unwilling to match his wage demands, as exclusively revealed by The Transfers Podcast in March.
Man City are on the verge of offloading Jack Grealish to Everton and James McAtee to Nottingham Forest, while they are in talks to sell Savinho to Tottenham Hotspur for a fee in excess of €50 million.
As a result, Pep Guardiola is eager to sign a replacement and Vinicius has seemingly emerged as an alternative to his Real Madrid team-mate Rodrygo, who is currently Man City’s preferred target.
However, they will reportedly face competition from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United, with Vinicius potentially set to complete a Premier League transfer in the near future.
Vinicius Junior to leave Real Madrid?
Although Vinicius Jr is reportedly open to a Premier League switch, he is also likely to receive a lucrative contract proposal from Saudi Arabia next summer.
Reports speculate that Real Madrid are set to receive a €350m offer for Vinicius from the Middle East at some point over the next three years, while he could become one of the highest-paid players in world football if he opts to join the Saudi Pro League.
The 25-year-old could also decide to renew his current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu, although Defensa Centralclaim that Los Blancos want to avoid further talk of a contract renewal in order to ensure the narrative around Vinicius shifts back towards his performances on the pitch.
As a result, they have reportedly decided to pause contract discussions with the Brazilian.
