'Very, very confident' - Man Utd receive HUGE Carlos Baleba transfer message
Brighton & Hove Albion boss Fabian Hurzeler has confirmed he is “very, very confident” that Carlos Baleba will remain at the club this season.
The Cameroon superstar has emerged as a priority transfer target for Manchester United in recent days and the Red Devils are actively pursuing a deal as they look to bolster Ruben Amorim’s squad ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
Baleba has been identified as Man Utd’s preferred midfield reinforcement and the club are in active talks with Brighton over a blockbuster summer deal, as per multiple reports.
The 21-year-old is open to completing an Old Trafford switch before Transfer Deadline Day, although he is yet to agitate for a move and Brighton are reluctant to sanction a sale.
The Seagulls are asking for a fee in excess of €116 million (£100m) for the former Lille midfielder and while a deal is on the cards, it hasn’t yet been finalised, despite reports in Cameroon suggesting that an agreement has been reached.
Brighton boss Hurzeler has now issued a clear transfer message amid increasing speculation that Baleba could leave the AMEX Stadium this summer.
Fabian Hurzeler responds to Man Utd’s interest in Carlos Baleba
During his pre-match press conference ahead of Brighton’s opening Premier League fixture against Fulham on Saturday, Hurzeler was asked whether Baleba will remain at the club this summer.
“I am very, very confident," he told reporters in response. “I didn't see any change. He seems to be in a very good place, enjoying it with his team-mates.”
Baleba, whose Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €55.3m, made a total of 40 appearances across all competitions for Brighton last season, scoring four goals and providing two assists.
His current contract at the AMEX Stadium is due to expire in 2028, although Brighton have the option to extend his stay by a further 12 months.
