Liverpool have already agreed personal terms with the Sweden striker but are struggling to get Newcastle to sell.

The Reds have had one bid for the 25-year-old striker knocked back already, with Newcastle insistent they will not let their star man go.

Liverpool turn to Vlahovic

Liverpool will continue to work on Isak but if their efforts fail they have lined up an alternative.

That alternative is Vlahovic, who is into the final year of his contract at Juventus.

Liverpool will sign a number 9 before the window closes on Monday and Vlahovic is on the shortlist of Isak alternatives according to TeamTalk.

The Bianconeri are desperate to sell him but have struggled badly all summer to find anyone close to making a concrete move.

The reason for that is his salary, with the Serbian the highest paid player in Serie A.

Juventus are struggling so badly to find buyers for Vlahovic that they have reduced his asking price to just €20 million.

The Serbian arrived from Fiorentina in 2022 for €80m as the hottest young striker in Europe after Erling Haaland.

However, he has never fulfilled his potential in Turin.

Vlahovic has still managed 59 goals in 146 games for Juventus, but he has been widely mocked for his overall play and poor technique.

He did score as a late substitute on Sunday in Juventus' 2-0 win over Parma in Serie A matchday one.
